Disco 2 TOWING ON AIR SPRINGS

My main point was that this vehicle is a good towing vehicle imo. The pic shows a single but I have towed a twin axle 26 ft Swiss polar which is a very heavy caravan, and still it exceeded expectation as a towing vehicle (and a single axle is generally more unstable than a twin axle). Again I...

Disco 2 TOWING ON AIR SPRINGS

We have been towing our caravan up Swiss mountains, down German valleys, across France, Belgium, Netherlands, Wales, Devon, Cornwall, Luxembourg etc. for holidays for,the last 3 years. We take our huge mountain dog with us in the boot (Disco 2, 03 number plate, air springs), 2 bikes on a rack on...

    throttle pedal position sensor

Thanks all for your suggestions. @sierrafery I am reading live data from my Lynx diagnostic interface. As for 'going cheap' - I was saving the pennies to get medical aid for the bruises I now have from laying on the door threshold I will refit the original pedal so at least I am mobile...

    throttle pedal position sensor

Thanks for quick response. My thinking is that I doubt if it is a wiring issue as before I fitted the second hand new pedal I could drive it.

    throttle pedal position sensor

I have a Disco 2 TD5 2003 I fitted a second hand pedal (bought as tried and tested and in perfect working order) - but now it is in limp home mode all the time (M&S lights flashing). I have tried switching off, getting out, locking car, getting back in and starting up again - but no...

    fault codes

Thank you for the quick response - that is very useful information. Two questions 1) will WD40 do for contact spray or if this is not suitable, which spray would you advise? 2) do you know if the throttle position sensor is sold separately to the pedal or is it an integral part of the pedal...

    fault codes

I was too lazy to run downstairs to get the name for the machine...but can now tell you it is a Lynx Diagnostic Interface and my LR is a TD5. I loaded the diagnostic machine on my partners laptop and run it on my TD5 yesterday for the first time.

Well it is the head - now what?

There is lots of really great advice here, and it may take you off in lots of different directions, so read it all because there is lots of good stuff there but follow your gut feeling...it may not be the worse case scenario and cost. Good luck.

Well it is the head - now what?

This is just a suggestion - it could just be a cracked injector housing, I had a similar problem (diesel in engine oil). I changed the washers and O rings and still had the same problem. On closer inspection I found one injector housing was cracked. I removed the head and sent it away for...

After removing cylinder head due to cracked injector seat, refitting head, recutting seat the vehicle started and there was a huge amount of white smoke. I left it running for around 20 minutes and there was still white smoke. I took it for a run and could not see behind me due to white smoke...
