Lightning is spot on here, I would put it in the sump as far away from the block as possible to stop the heat from the block making a impact on temp reading, the oil pickup is maybe half inch off bottom of sump so when up to temperature that would provide a consistent oil temp reading.

I would literally plug it in and got with the flow, 400w is not a lot of power, I have mine piggy backed off of my high beams and have never had an issue with it. just check the fog lights fuse and compare to the amps of the fuse that came with the light bar?

I've wired mine into the main headlights, so when I go on high beam it turns my LED bar on too, wouldn't be a bad idea to put them on the fogs though if you haven't got them in. Wiring is simple, just look up a schematic of 4 way relay diagram and go from there.

What's your budget? I have a 2001 Disco 2 TD5 Manual with 2" lift kit, sitting on a set of near new Hankook Dynopro M/T snork, 52" LED bar Winch Bumper with 13500lb winch (Rope) upgraded rear metal bumper, CB radio. And a fresh headlining in it which is near on perfect.

The only thing I found was a little bit of carbon build up I had missed out but that's how it was when it was running maybe rings causing an issue and didn't see it when it was in, other than that I'm completely baffled

Long due update sorry for silence, took it all apart again and recleaned, put it back together and it turns over perfectly now, bizzare!! Thanks for input guys :):)

Caps, Shells and rods all have markings to ensure they go on the right way yeah the only thing I can think of is that some shells have been swapped by mistake with a wrong piston as the shells are not numbered like the caps and rods. the Nipple was pointing in the direction the Haynes had said...
