    URGENT - Part Needed

Can anyone help? I need a part ASAP. For the past year, I have had problems with my clutch. We have finally identified that the issue is a pipe, which I have mentioned before. It is the pipe that has a plastic pigtail and joins onto a long piece that I believe goes to the slave cylinder. The...

I have never done this before

Perhaps my initial post wasn't well written. I am looking to buy the Landy for about £4500 and then add to it. Hopefully, this may allow me to get a reasonable vehicle.

Thanks, Neilly. You make some valid points. We will cross the security bridge once we have actually got the Landy. I do have a slightly ulterior motive behind this. If she doesn't like it, dad will be forced to take it on . Not that I would discourage her!

I have never done this before

In terms of security, I don't think this will be an issue. She certainly doesn't have money on her as I'm always paying :). When I say soft top, I mean a complete landrover that is a soft top.

This will be an interesting project. If I can find an ex mod 90 soft top, would this be classified as modified?

I have never done this before

Dear all - thank you for the replies - they make perfect sense. Insurance is OK, I have just checked. I must admit, I didn't think about the vehicle being modified, a really valid point. We have a few months to go before we really consider buying one. I agree with the comments about buying a...

I have never done this before

My Daughter would like a Land Rover 90 for her first car. Ideally what she would like is a soft-top with back seats in it. IN addition to this, she would like a roll bar, bucket seats and harnesses for seat belts. My budget for buying the 90 is about £4500. I have had a few Land Rovers but have...

    Polybushes

I nearly went for britpart. I wanted to replace everything and the company I bought from priced everything up. There wasn't a great deal of difference between the two. Therefore went for slightly more expensive polybush. I do about 15k a year. I will review in a few months time, to keep people...

    Polybushes

Just got the Disco back with new Polybushes fitted. Given that Disco is 17 years old and probably on the original bushes, I knew that ride would be better. I must say, I am really impressed with the quality of the ride. The Disco is no longer wallowy and the ride is firmer, although not back...

    Polybushes

After plenty of thought, I was going for the britpart. However, Polybush were not that more expensive. At last minute, went with polybush. Once fitted, Write up my views.

    key less entre

I changed this 2 or 3 times on my Disco 1. As with all jobs, it became easier with practice. Follow the instructions an just take your time. Only other advice is to watch the small rods near the lock and if possible have a spare clip to keep the rods in situ. I damaged one of mine and this...

    Polybushes

Thanks to all for their advice. I rarely go off-road and disco is my daily commute. I stated earlier on that I would not go britpart. However, I do respect jamesmartins view. Especially as 5 years was quoted. Britpart supply the kit and are much cheaper. I will give this some serious thought...

    Polybushes

I have got someone who is going to change the bushes for me. I don't think I'm going Brit part. It will probably be polybush or bearmach. I want go replace all bushes. I thought they would do this as a complete kit, but, sadly they don't. I have a dealer pricing them up for me. Hopefully will...

    Polybushes

I appreciate there are mixed views about polybushes. I have decided to opt for them as quite a few bushes need replacing. Cost is an issue. Britpart are the cheapest and it would appear that many people slate them Has anyone had any positive experiences with britpart polybushes?

Disco 2 Pipe from Clutch Master Cylinder to Slave Cylinder

Thanks, Neilly. He stated that he had already been to a hydraulics supplier and I think the issue was with the fine threads and it couldn't be done. I don't know about this area. I am quite near pony road. Issue I have is that I need disco road worthy by next weekend. Indie is Mark Smith...

Disco 2 Pipe from Clutch Master Cylinder to Slave Cylinder

I have decided to take Disco to local independent LR Specialist. They will investigate and think it maybe the pipe as first suggested. However, labour should be an hour, not, £250 as suggested by local garage. Issue as originally posted is that they cannot locate a pipe. They had a disco in a...

Disco 2 Pipe from Clutch Master Cylinder to Slave Cylinder

There was evidence from the master cylinder - foam on bulkhead was wet. I believe there was also evidence from slave cylinder. Do all Disco's have wading plugs? I thought this was after market.

Disco 2 Pipe from Clutch Master Cylinder to Slave Cylinder

This issue continues. Based on James Martins comments, I had another mechanic check out the clutch pipe issue. He stated all pipes were dry with no evidence of leaking. Concerns over slave cylinder. Both Master clutch cylinder and slave cylinder have now been replaced. However, I am still losing...

When you say remove rear covers, do you mean the foam on the bulkhead?

Disco 2 Pipe from Clutch Master Cylinder to Slave Cylinder

G Gearbox hasn't been out. A garage has diagnosed the fault. They are pretty good.
