There's no doubt this is a mother of a box at £480 in store or £690 delivered from their web site, so why the vast difference then? The box is heavy, very heavy and whilst they don't give the un-loaded weight the box has a "capacity" of 1.12 tons! That's a lot of tools. It's a great design and...
Thanks guys for all the input.
Firstly the jury is still out for me regarding which sort of lift to install for my S2 Discovery and a variety of old classics. But have some findings I will share with you all:
Scissor Lift
This is a very mobile solution, the wheels hang so there is no need for...
I am considering the purchase of a 4 post service/storage lift and was wondering if any members have installed a four poster in their garage. There are various contenders including those that import Chinese lifts and those that manufacture their own in the UK such as Strongman. It's a large...
I am now seriously considering the Halfords Advanced bundle, three 26" cabs, 15 drawers, 120- to 350 Kg per cab, 30Kg per draw, soft close drawers, liners, gas struts, 3 year guarantee, £472 with Trade card. Any comments...…….
Sorry, no photos, can just about manage a hammer, as for a camera...…..
So the whole effect is very good, the slight flock effect of the bare headlining material looks great in pale grey, and it's only when you touch it that you realise there is no foam rubber back material there. The £140 was...
So on to the sagging headlining. With the ingress of water and degradation over time of the foam part of the headlining, the fabric is bound to part company with it. Initially I have tried a spray headlining adhesive but this has proved to be a total waste of time, with adhesive everywhere you...
That certainly looked and sounded the business but unfortunately I received this reply from Costco when enquiring about the product:
Unfortunately this item is now deleted and will not be returning to our stores. *please note this is always subject to change*
Not sure where to put this question and I guess it has been done to death in the past as well.
Like many gutter-spannerers, I have amassed a motley selection of tools, distributed around the garage in various old cantilever tool boxes and buckets. I have now built a new triple garage/workshop...
The sunroofs are back in with a good thick bead of that Tiger Bond stuff all round. Both main seals have been removed and the channels cleaned. On close inspection these seals seem in good condition. The glass fixing screws have been tightened (and resealed) to pull the glass down firmer on to...
Sorry InterceptorX Some of what you say may be true, but it still doesnt make little plastic boxes silicone into the corner of a steel pressing designed to channel water away from the interior of the car a good design.
The front sun roof is now completely out and I think I know sort of how it works, waterproofing wise.
The main sunroof, mounts to the top of the roof. There is no custom silicone rubber or Nephrene seal around the outer frame to clamp down onto the roof with a nice groove in the moulding to keep...
The headlining is now out. This helped considerably: http://blog.discoverthat.co.uk/2017/03/remove-headlining-part-1.html.
Now the headlining does not come out too easily from the rear of the car if you have a 7 seat option, especially single handed as I am. But with a little fiddling it's out...
Hello InterceptorX,
I appreciate the ease of which you sorted your water leak and indeed the rear door seal looks correct and in position on my vehicle, but you may have noticed that I posted "Yes, the whole headlining does have to be removed as water ingress has caused the fabric to drop in...
Progress so far:
All the front is released, B post trim released OK, rear grab handles and sensor removed. Now for the rear.
It looks like the headlining is held in at the sides by the rear window side panels, but RAVE does not refer to these.
Is it just a matter of pulling the headlining...
Well, as always I appreciate the experience of others and have taken the string route round the back wheels to the front, with a touch to the front and rear of the front tyre at the same time, indicating zero toe in/out. I will watch tyre wear accordingly.
Thanks guys
