    Dehumidifiers

I bought a Meaco Zambezi DD8L in the end. Completely automatic, drains to sink and does the job. But watch your electricity bill, these things dont do anything for free. Keeps the garage at a constant 55% humidity for me and all my tools are rust free.

    Car Wash Brushes

It was the right thing to do. The brush is excellent and has been in use 18 months now. A pleasure to use and does the LR very well. I recommend it 100%

    Impact wrenches

As a home mechanic and bodger of some repute, I have mainly bought Makita in the past Andy, but do have some De Walt stuff. The De Walt DCF990 has such good reviews it was a no-brainer especially for the LR. It is a mans tool weight wise, but like any good battery power tool it is perfectly...

    Hub stake nut

I did the job by pulling the whole half shaft assembly out. The idea was to stop oil leaking, so i replaced the hub O ring. It didn't make any difference, the hub still leaks oil over the back plate, so will need to replace the hub complete at some point. i dont envisage this as a problem now...

    RAVE where is it?

My trusty version of RAVE for my 2003 LR D S2 no longer works. Can anyone advise me where I can find it to downloaded afresh. I can find the Workshop Manual easily enough but not a working complete RAVE set of manuals including electrical diagrams and working descriptions etc.

    Two post or scissor lift

I have the opportunity of purchasing a second hand two post lift and should like to get your thoughts. The two post is a 1989 Stenhoj Mascot with lift capacity of three ton. It is currently fitted with a three phase motor and has led a sheltered life in a country estate workshop and seems in...

    Impact wrenches

Yes I was talking bare unit resto. I guess the important thing is what torque I shall need and choosing the most compact and cost effective IW for that rating

    Impact wrenches

Thanks guys. So far it is looking like the Cordless Impact Driver is the way to go and I appreciate all the comments and recommendation regarding these tools. The use I would put the tool to would be on my Land Rover Discovery S2, and three older classic cars I maintain, so torque capability is...

    Impact wrenches

I am considering the purchase of an Impact Wrench (IW) to use of the (t)rusty Discovery and am split between a cordless IW of suitable torque or air tool. To go down the route of air tools I would have to upgrade my compressor, so there are sort of two questions here relating to cordless IW and...

    TD5 with ACE PAS leak

The new pump is now installed, the system bled using the lock-to-lock process rather than opening the steering box bleed nipple, which is so much easier and straight forward. The axles have new oil and new brass level plugs, the factory plastic items being a load of crap. The transfer box...

    TD5 with ACE PAS leak

This morning I crawled under the motor and sure enough there was PAS fluid dripping from the PAS pump after leaving her overnight. So this was the culprit, hence I took the PAS pump out of the car. It is fairly simple, pull the air intake stuff, remove the associated plugs and sockets from...

    TD5 with ACE PAS leak

I am loosing PAS fluid at a very slow rate, just enough to need a couple of mm top up per 100 or so miles. PAS fluid is being sprayed around the front of the engine, dripping down the chassis leg, but mainly appears to be emanating from the near side, or the PAS pump side. Indeed pulling the...

    Hub stake nut

I guess the question is how do you get the rear hub stake nut off the half shaft to repair the hubs? I locked the hub with a bar to the ground, knocked out the ident on the stake nut, used a breaker bar and scaffold tube, total length 3' and no luck. Does one have to heat, belt or extend the...

Rear axle pinoin oil seal replacement

Hi SS Yes, that seems a good enough reason for oil not to come past the pinion bolt. Thanks Steve
