Thanks as always SF. My VIN is 837A324162 According to the parts listing the ACE ECU for VINs 3A778135 to XA232816 (which I guess includes my VIN 837A324162), then the Part Number for the ECU is RQT000030. I have seen these available from various sources at reasonable prices. I will get one...

Jesus this is difficult. I have found a lower nut on a sort of bracket that holds the BCU and ACE ECU togther, but that alone is not realeasing the two ECUs. It's nothing like the RAVE I have managed to open. Getting to the point where I'll kick this in to touch and forget about sorting the ACE...

I am trying to get the ACE ECU out of the car to reveal it's part number, so I can get another one. I have removed the glove box and bottom facial trim but cannot see what is holding it in apart from one nut at the front. Does anyone have a link to a copy of the RAVE manua (all mine are now...

I was going to syphon out old from reservoir and run it 4-5 times. Let the new mix with the old in the system and then chuck and replace

The ACE fluid is very dirty in the reservoir. Do you recommend a complete change for fresh fluid might help?

Yes, on an ECU drivers for devices can fail, that is true. On the drive this afternoon I monitored that current fed to the DCV1 and DCV2 as I cornered, the max I saw was just under 5 amps which for a 2.6 ohm winding would indicate the the ACE ECU relay driver transistors are operating pretty...

The filter was fairly clean when removed, but I have washed in petrol, compressed air blown out and re-installed. I would presume that an ACE bleed process would be a good idea next?

OK thanks SF, I'll clean that area up and investigate. May I thank you kindly for all your assistance regarding this annoying problem, you are a star m8. :o)

Yes you are right intermitents are a pain. I took her round the block and unlike yesterday the ACE light did not illuminate, however the Fault codes recorded were: 33-06 Directional control valve fault 45-07 Battery Voltage too low 47-07 Main relay test has failed Maybe these were there...

No the dash ACE light is not illuminated, as the Nanocom says too, the warning light is off. When the warning light came on it was accomapied by the ACE ECU faultcode 30-06. You could stop and start the car and the light would come on after a few minutes driving. I will clear the code and run...

I have PowerProbed DCV1 and DCV2 from the ACE ECU main connector and you can hear both operating OK. PowerProbing the PCV it draws current, but I cannot physically hear it operating

......and here are the valve resisitance results: DCV1 2.6 ohms (pins 23-24) DCV2 2.6 ohms (pins 22-24) PCV 5.5 ohms (pins 25-27)

I swapped the horn relay over to the ACE and visa versa. Horn works with ACE relay. Fired her up and took these readings: Engine speed:719 Road speed: 0 Batt V: 14.38 DCV1 Current (AMP): 0 DCV2 Current (AMP): 0 PCV Current (AMP) : 0.09 to 0.19 Pressure sensor (BAR) 017.27 (varies) Residual...

Here are the readings with the R14 relay linked out and engine running: Engine speed:719 Road speed: 0 Batt V: 14.38 DCV1 Current (AMP): 0 DCV2 Current (AMP): 0 PCV Current (AMP) : 0 Pressure sensor (BAR) 016.21 (varies) Residual pressure (BAR) 020.00 Upper lateral accelerometer: 00.01 (Varies)...

OK I'll pull that and report back results. Not sure why my thread has been mixed with Kaijun's original question at header?

Great SF, just one more question. Which are the relay contacts I need to bridgein R14?

Disco 2 D2 td5 ACE amber warning light

And I think the data is the ACE inputs from the Nanocom with the engine running.......

Could this be R14 in the main fuse box in the right hand side of the engine compartment? If so it seems very hard to extract. Is there a clip arrangement?

Hi Guys That was prompt! i am afraid you'll have to advise me a little more. Which relay are we refering to and where is it located. Then which contact cavities are we refering to "bridge" and what Nanocom test shows the results. Sorry to be such a thicko..........but we'll get there I am sure...
