Anyone close to the old coach lane Cumbria?

Keswick is a lot closer. Had a look at the FB picture, I don't have a winch which is what it seems to need and wouldn't want to get myself stuck particularly since I would be on my own, in the dark, in poor conditions, in unknown terrain. This one I think is best left for the emergency...

Anyone close to the old coach lane Cumbria?

Screerun ere, had a look on Google maps and that lane is over towards Penrith, don't know that area. Its on maps as old coach road. Well over an hour from where I live. Not keen unless its a real emergency particularly given the weather.

    Interior Light's won't turn off!!

The interior light is controlled by the AS10 alarm module. I didnt think mine had one fitted as it has no fob. However when I connected it up to my new nanocom there it was! In the nanocom menu there is a switch interior light on/off function. Simple enough you might think but I got myself into...

    Air In Fuel

Well finally solved the air in fuel problem on my 100k 2002 Defender 90 td5. Yep, injector seals. Took me 4 hours start to finish to change last Tuesday, been right as rain since. Spent a lot of time messing around with the air bleed valve and looking for leaks in pipes, regulator etc first as...

    Nanocom West Cumbria

Hi folks, I do a bit of touring in the remoter parts of Scotland and some time ago bought myself a nanocom evolution set up for a defender TD5 incase I ever got into trouble, but I have never had to use it in anger yet. I live in the Whitehaven area and just thought I would offer its services if...

    4wd & Transmission Wind Up

........ and taking the advice and thought further, if I understand fully, that would mean that it may be possible to get out of a front and rear spin situation by a couple of gentle taps on the brake to lock the diffs and gain a couple of inches back onto something the wheels can grip on. A...

    4wd & Transmission Wind Up

...........it also explains what a spam was doing fitting air lockers to his diffs on a different site I was looking at (or was it a magaazine, not important!). I didn't understand why he would want them if he already had a diff lock function on the vehicle but as Stig explains, that only locks...

    4wd & Transmission Wind Up

Many thanks for the help fellas, had a look at "how stuff works" last night and was still a bit confused but Stig has responded today with a good clear explanation which coupled to what I understood has got everything straight for me. Once again, thanks for the help. See below; tyres are not...

    4wd & Transmission Wind Up

So, transmission wind up. I understand what it is, tension built up in the transmission components when the energy is stored (a bit like a clock spring) and continues to build up until some thing gives. Usually happens when the diffs are stopped from doing their job i.e. when diff lock is...

    Hi from West Cumbria

A quick hello to all. I'm an owner of a 2002 TD5 Hardtop. Started reading the threads on TD5's and ECU's, got scared and thought I better make buddies with folk that know more than me. Got totally confused by ECU's being engine specific so you can't swap them between vehs.... how does it know...
