    Body control unit replaced

Wow, thanks backinblack. I did know that the headlights on and ignition on were required, but I didn't know about the 3 minute prevention period. But I have turned the ignition off and retried and they still don't work. The passenger side motor and the washer pump were both faulty and I've...

    Body control unit replaced

Hi all 2002 L322 3.0 tdi Yesterday I replaced the body control unit because I couldn't get rhe headlight washers and wipers to work (yes the motors are ok as is the washer pump - not sure about the relay) Anyway, today the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob doesn't work. Does the BCU also...

    ABS module repair/suspension issue L322 2002 TD6 FIXED

I had a steering articulation error that only popped up occasionally but got progressively worse. When the error appeared, the 'inactive air suspension' popped up. Mine problem turned out to be a faulty steering angle sensor. Presume your battery is good. The car will throw up lots of faults if...

L322 Steering angle sensor replacement - guide with pictures

I thought I'd add to this excellent guide, Access (and visibility) are improved if you take the triangular side panel off the the dash and also remove the small heater duct that runs across above the pedals in the footwell. But look at the photo for extra comfortable working arrangement and...

    HDC and air suspension inactive

The lower shaft is indeed splined onto one that attaches to the steering wheel. It's just a matter of clamping the bottom end and pulling on the steering wheel to allow them to slide apart a bit. All sorted now. Calibrated steering angle and renewed ecu using iid tool and 3 fault lights cleared...

    HDC and air suspension inactive

Aaaah yes indeed. Actually the wedge has two purposes. First is to keep the door open and the second is to stop the plank sliding towards the door and off the cill. I thought the use of the flowerpot showed a particulatly sensitive side.

    HDC and air suspension inactive

Im guessing that inside the sterring column there's another splined joint that lets the steering wheel rake, and that the lower part of the shaft has got pushed up towards the steering wheel Question is, how do i get it down again?

    HDC and air suspension inactive

Well, there's good news and bad news. The good news is that I got the steering sensor out and opened it. One of the wipers is knackered. I got the new sensor in ok, but now my problem is that the steerkng column shaft isn't long enough to go into the clamp with the pinch bolt. I can put all 4...

    Check coolant level

Sorry guys, I had a wee sneaky look at another forum https://www.lrukforums.com/threads/l322-check-coolant-level-dashboard-warning.207900/ Looks like it is indeed a reed switch activated by a magnet on a pole I'll give the tank a rinse and see if that helps

    Check coolant level

2002 L322 td6 Ive got a 'check coolant level' alert, so I got a new sensor off ebay and it hasn't cured the problem. C'est la vie When I plug the old sensor in and stick a magnet beside it, the fault clears. Anyone know if the sensor is a hall effect device which is operated by a magnet on the...

    Anyone near Birmingham airport?

I did make my flight. No beef at all with Easyjet, but when the chief security bod in his pob pretty much agrees that a cordless screwdriver isn't specifically on the CAA list of items which are specifically prohibited from being carried onboard and goes on to say that he wouldn't overule the...

    Anyone near Birmingham airport?

Yes, yes I have! Actually no. I was through the airport yesterday and one of the rather over zealous security people relieved me of my Bosch screwdriver. Obviously they thought that I'd have the aircraft dismantled duri g the 40 min flight to Belfast. Anyway, I'veordered a new one and I'd...
