I should also add yesterday all the covers came off and the inlet manifold came off as having owned several bmw with variations of the m57 engine I know the vacuum hoses suffer. And I had a quick inspection of the injector return lines and nothing stood out on the injectors.

Doesn’t vibrate unless it’s in 5th with torque converter locked between 50 and 60mph. It’s at its worse at about 55 56.

The gearbox is fine in every other respect. I flushed the gearbox after a few hundred miles in my ownership and the fluid came out a red pink colour with no glittery fluid at all.
