Take the pump out. There's no other way.

LEDs only work if the current is running the right way. If you can somehow reverse the wiring you might find that they work. If all else fails cut the cables, swap them over and rejoin them. Try one and see what happens. I had to do all four for another member on here. A bit of soldering and...

Your BECM, the main brain for the car, is under the driver's seat. If it gets damp you get all sorts of interesting faults. If ignored you get a dead car.

What are you trying to test? If it's a switch of some sort then it hardly matters. Switch open - meter shows infinity in some form, switch closed - meter shows zero or b****y close to it.

As OVAL said, if you're lucky, it's a poor connection. If it's a newish Rangie you should have airbags in the seats and the underseat connectors can be fragile. All Rangies have a bag in the steering wheel connected through the rotary coupler. All the wiring is yellow. BE CAREFUL - remember...

Solenoid contacts are a known failure. You can buy a kit and refurb it.
