Shame you aren't closer... I would love to assist. {edit} - It looks like your steel coolant pipe will be leaking soon pal.. - just double check it.... it looks badly corroded from the pic. (look at my threads and you will see the challenge I have - of my own)

    Please help! Freelander Td4

My key died... and would only start on one key, or from a bump start.... it was strange.... almost like the immobiliser only took the starter motor out. if you have a friend with the software / cable - ask him to see if he can check the keys and immobiliser status. on closer inspection of your...

    Please help! Freelander Td4

Hi. Firstly...... The filter - It is connected correctly - this is the vaccum filter and SHOULD be left open at one end.. The wires.... I would look to see if the cut off wires (not the ones connected at the fuel rail) go to the harness junction which is covered with a plastic shield slightly...

Freelander 1 How easy and smooth should it be to engage gears

I can imagine... others on here will probably give you different advice - of which I have accepted and used in many cases... I give my opinions and advice on real-life experiences.. one thing I would suggest... get the gear oil changed prior to doing anything else (and that includes worrying)...

Freelander 1 How easy and smooth should it be to engage gears

I may have jumped the gun.....depending on the gearbox you have fitted. If you have a GETRAG gearbox (the slave cylinder is inside the bellhousing and not visible with the exception of two pipes from the top of the box) then my statement remains. If you can see the clutch arm on the box, this...

Freelander 1 How easy and smooth should it be to engage gears

Speaking from experience..... I'm guessing you have a clutch pedal that feels that it is FULL.. by that, I mean the pedal returns right up to the top and feels normal? When I say "speaking from experience" - I had exactly the same issue. A new clutch worked for a short period of time - prior to...

    Freelander 1 I'm back again :-( TD4 Alternator question!!!

One of the wires is for the battery warning light - if this isn't connected, the alternator won't charge the battery - and won't power the lights in the dark. the other wire - unsure, but I'm certain this will be the pickup for the rev. counter - via the ECM (or it used to be in days of old) on...
