    Series 3 1982 Series 3 SWB 2.25 petrol

Nice doors. Yes, there should be a plastic gasket between the hinge and door, I guess to keep water out of the bulkhead. I'm afraid I don't have a part number to hand.

    Seat choices

I ended up getting three tired seats for less than £100, although I spent quite a while scanning eBay, here and Gumtree. Lucky I did end up with three in the end as one of them was completely bent

I'm also 6'3, poss even 6 4 and fitting reupholstered defender seats in mine. There is F all room with the series seats so it won't be much different in terms of space. I'm also fitting a smaller steering wheel for a bit more leg room

    '74 S3 SWB - project down-under

How, just found your thread and flicked over the last couple of pages. I will be reading properly from the beginning for sure. Have you dealt with your aerial hole yet? I have precisely the same hole and been wondering what to do with it. I quite like the suggestion to leave it as 'character'. :D

    SWB re-chassis

Thanks Ashley. Yes, I'll take some pictures of the seatbelt install. It was easy for me as the driver & passenger had belts installed already, there is a bit of hardware required in order to mount the reel and anchorage points securely. Yeah that makes sense (jack and small bits under...

I think there were a few SWB stage 1 v8's but very low numbers. I'd love one but probably worth a fortune.

    Refurbing steering wheel

Only turn the wheel when you're on the move, you should be fine! :)

    Refurbing steering wheel

I dunno what to do with these, mines the same style. I've got for an aftermarket job which is smaller as I barely fit under the original.

    Respray

Spraying the whole thing the same colour runs the risk of looking a bit naff, especially if you paint the galvanized bits too.

    Refurbing steering wheel

What sort of wheel is it? A series 3 plastic job or a early series wire pronged thing? Post us a piccy :)

    SWB re-chassis

Yes, 11" TLS on the front so could well have been 1 1/4 on the back. From memory the one that came off might have been 1 1/2". The Delphi is marked as correct all the way through to end of series production so a bit miffed if it's wrong. I'll go for a like-for-like replacement on the other side...
