Yep, got that. But the low pressure side of the pump bleeds through to the injectors, this keeps air out and helps lubrication. So if you take the injector pipes off and get LP pressure up (with the primer or electric pump) a little fluid should come out the pipes without the engine turning.

That will be low pressure leak through coming out of all the pipes at the same time. That is not enough pressure to open the injector nozzle.

Have you checked the inertia switch on the firewall under the bonnet. It is a black object with a rubber bung on top which is pushed to reset it. If it has tripped (due to a knock etc.) it stops the fuel pump and also starting.

If the HG was done right, using a modern quality gasket and applying the knowledge known now it will not fail, unless you cook it (like any other engine).

Hi Ron, Best you ask for help in the Freelander section. But, how long did you wait for the cooling fans to shut off? They should continue to run for a while after the ignition is off.

You will need to reuse it when you convert back to air suspension.
