Wow -that's not good. I'm sure Island 4x4 will be ok with you - been a good company imo. Was this a Britpart piece, if so maybe they sell an oem quality part.

I bet the op has given up after all this advice and had his drive tarmacked over - oh yes, and be careful using a trolley jack on fresh tarmac:rofl::cool2:

Ah right - I guess the secret is not to over tighten the metal hose clips if its a plastic 't' piece. Hope you didn't cook the engine and it's just a straightforward replacement piece.

It was those lovely people at Land Rover covering all the angles with no expense spared:p:)

    Temperature gauge rising slightly

On the v8, if the cooling system is in good nick (clear rad, working pump, viscous coupling, fan, thermostat, secure hoses) and the engine is good (no h/g probls, slipped liners, cracked blocks), would never need additional fans for cooling. A big ask, admittedly.:boxing:

6000 blocks! you could have built another house with that many and doubled your money:D

    Block pathing

I meant displace a few blocks on yer new driveway (which you don't want to do). Use a couple of scaffold boards under the jack.

P38 Pollen filter housings letting water in

Silicone sealant - i.e. translucent bathroom sealant in a cartridge - will do the job.

Careful when you remove/replace the rubber rocker cover gaskets. They have small brass rings/spacers at the bolt holes, that drop out easily. I nearly managed to drop mine into the engine when replacing the valley gasket:eek:

    Block pathing

Spread the weight very well on block paving - as its loose layed over a layer of sand; you could easily displaced a few blocks at a time with the weight of a Range Rover:eek:

On the gems engine its easier to take the plenum chamber off to get to the straight coils - though not so sure about the thor engine which you have. Can you see the condition of the coils by unplugging the leads from there - i.e. any corrosion??

Got a quote from the Garage (EAS)

Quite right, and your new software will be invaluable. Just one of those things, a bummer that you're t'other end of country from your new motor. I like the eas system (once you get to know it), most comfortable car I've had. Even got to put it in wade height last week in the storms & flash...
