    Maybe the 20 miles of thrashing did the job? Italian tune up? Just checked my last emissions test was 0.24. Bog standard state of tune.

    Have you tried starting in neutral, giving the engine a few seconds to settle and then shifting straight to D and not putting any undue electrical load on (headlights etc) until you're ready to move if you need to move the car?

    Item 19? FTC3707 https://www.island-4x4.co.uk/rear-diff-flane-centralizing-allmakes-ftc3707-tid000010-p-26726.html PS they probably didn't put it back on as it can be a sod to get off and they probably destroyed it in removing.

    Seconded. Did the front passenger on mine a while back. Just replaced the broken one, dead easy and not expensive and you'll know (hope?) it will not fall apart anytime soon.

    I seem to recall our resident D2 guru @sierrafery said to make sure it was a genuine LR one in a Land Rover box and that's good enough for me to not question! :)
