Fitted new wiper blades today, to go with the new screen. Autoglass were fantastic at the glass bit, but wanted 44 quid for a pair of wipers :eek:. Paid 12 on fleabay and fitted them myself.

Today's activity is a bit less positive than yesterday's: booked a replacement windscreen for 115 quid, having got a chip yesterday in the dark that's too large to repair. Bugger

Sadly no AC in mine, and it only really does it when putting full lock on at very low speed. Only takes 2 minutes to tighten it up when it squeals so there are worse problems to have!

Red Rover has been for a 350 mile round trip to Lyme Regis to pick up a family member's car. Ran flawlessly except a little squeal from the belt that needed tightening up again. I'm growing ever more sceptical of the Land Rover manual's advice not to put a bar or anything in to lever the...

As others, ATF is the best bet BUT, I'm sure I've seen Ashcrofts or somewhere similar saying that the best fluid to put in is whatever is in there already, unless you plan to do a proper flush to get the remnants of the old stuff out.

Personally, I doubt that soldiers on either side would genuinely carry out the order to start a nuclear war. The order has been given, and ignored, before.

I totally agree, I had some sympathy and (much as I thought it very wrong to say it, as Biden did) didn't disagree with the view that if Russia went into only the Donbas and Luhansk (which had been occupied by Russian soldiers pretending to be locals since 2014) a military response from NATO...

Putin seems to have totally lost the plot. He was a shrewd and effective political operator who, even if you disliked or disagreed with him, I think one had to respect. Now he's acting irrationally and in a way that may very well return Russia to the early 90s: a largely irrelevant power...

There are certainly parallels to be drawn at the moment, which is rare (particularly given the number of people who try to draw parallels with all sorts of other leaders).

The thing about Ukraine and Nazism has just enough truth to make it a believable pretext for the current nonsense if you don't subject it to any real scrutiny. Lots of Ukrainians voluntarily joined the SS during WW2, and they still have marches to celebrate those that did in some Ukrainian...

Productive day today: almost all the fluids in Brown Rover have been replaced. Need to fill up the transfer case tomorrow, but otherwise diffs, gearbox, engine are all done. Also fitted a new rear bumper, minus the end cap bits, to Brown Rover. Red Rover is being driven round with the belt...
