What did you do with your Range Rover today

Following this metaphor, Landyzone is Addicts Anonymous, but instead of helping people get off crack, everyone just tells each other the detrimental effects are worth it! :D

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I've dodged that label... so far. They're definitely growing on me though so maybe I'll be part of the group once Brown Rover is sold!

Some people seem to lack any sort of logic or common sense don't they?

What did you do with your Range Rover today

https://www.rangerovers.net/threads/britpart-woes.346766/#post-2332163 It was this thread. Apparently he was doing 30mph, would have been a lot worse at 70!

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I heard a story about "exploding" ****part wheel spacers once, at highway speed in the US. Sounded bloody terrifying!

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I avoid Britpart (or ****part) at all costs for anything that needs to actively do something, or is unsafe if it fails. Maybe I'm naive, but as long as it seals (and if you've got excess pressure it seems to), an expansion tank doesn't fall into the category I'd avoid from Britpart. I reckon it...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I'm not an expert, but I always thought that that was the risk with air in your coolant system (anywhere other than the top of the expansion tank).

Have they damaged them removing them with an angle grinder? I'd guess they have, which is why they want to feed you a BS line to put you off getting them to do it. Personally, when a garage spins me this kind of ****e, I just don't go back there. I do most of the stuff myself now though!

What did you do with your Range Rover today

A near miss there Alan, we've got a 986 in the family and have had a couple of 911s. They're a total ballache to work on. German engineering appears to mean "overly complicated and not any better".

    My 200tdi project. (NAMELESS)

Good tyres and good driving knowledge are worth more than a lift kit and all the lightbars a toerag can nick if you leave your Landy in a muddy puddle ;)

Classic 1988 EFI, converted to 200TDI, Fuel tank issues

The breather is definitely connected to the correct place, and there was a 1 way valve in the original setup. It breathes fine with the setup I've installed.

Classic 1988 EFI, converted to 200TDI, Fuel tank issues

Diesel shouldn't expand enough to make a huge difference with the temperatures involved here, especially as I never brim the tank, so there is more than the standard 5% required by UK regulations. The Jerry can thing, only really an issue with petrol where (rather than the thermal expansion of...

Classic 1988 EFI, converted to 200TDI, Fuel tank issues

Hopefully, this is the last update on this... So today, the last of the parts I ordered 3 weeks ago arrived and I set about sorting the breather out. So, rear quarter panel off again. Here's what I've been running with while I awaited parts: And here's what I've assembled to replace the...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Finally fitted a replacement setup for the breather on Red Rover. Went for a nice little test drive and there's no vacuum in the tank. :)

    My 200tdi project. (NAMELESS)

Unless you're rock crawling, big lifts are mostly aesthetic. Personally, I don't prefer the lifted look, and don't do any rock crawling, so the added handling of stock ride height is a no brainer. I do like a Jeep (woodies and XJs are lovely) and they can't be as bad as 1970s Italian cars...

    My 200tdi project. (NAMELESS)

Glad to hear you're sticking with it. The beauty of these (I've got two Range Rovers, from which the Disco was derived) is their simplicity and the ease of working on them. We've got quite a few cars in the household (14 at last count) and the Landies are by far the most spanner friendly. I...
