    6mm marine ply is whats used standard on all commercial vans to do the sides and for what the weight would be and for the size of the area covered 16mm is normally used on the floors and wheelarches :D

    Series parking

    i just leave mine on th drive behind an iron padlocked and chained gate with a label on the dash saying ( vehicle restricted to 40mph ) and a sign in the back window saying ( on tow) and just fer good measure a bit of shredded BT draw rope dangling off the front bumper :D:D:D

    Id check the tops of those pistons fer cracks if that were mine All yet need to do is get the piston to the top of the stroke and use a tough cloth like denim and some standard thinners get them as shiny as you can then let the piston down the stroke a little then pour enough thinners in...

    now i don't venture in here often but in gerrin desperate now and also feeling cheeky so here goes ........is there anyone doing a tdi conversion and removing a compete 2.5 na fender engine if so id really. Like to buy the bugger as i just haven't the heart to rebuild the sodding 2.25 series...

    i had exactly the same idea but i started with a rebore and new pistons but thing is the geezer that did the rebore left all the **** from honing in the engine so that mixed with the oil and ground down evry working surface such as bearings and piston rings so now i gotta do pretty much...

    Yet know mine has just done the same thing and im sure this time its the rings gone in the pistons so im either looking for another engine or sourcing a new set of rings :mad:

    Have you thought of my mr bean approach Drill an 8mm hole in the roof gutter above the door in the centre then drill a same size hole in a foot length of 1"x1" angle iron then padlock the angle iron to the gutter trapping the door then to take the play out of it weld a washer to the padlock...
