The drop plate attachment for my tank guard came today - i struggled to find one for sale, but I came across a guy on eBay that makes up tank guards and he agreed to sell me one separately. So after some measuring I bought one - and it's a perfect fit! Couple of reflectors to go on the rear...

Haha - it's very high end. I haven't, but I think i'm just going to order 8mm sheet metal online to size and drill the holes myself. Foz

    My Discovery 1 Progress

Hi mate, Do you mean the clear indicators? if so you can just buy them - about £30 for the pair from memory. You'll need orange indicator bulbs rather than clear. Foz

Painted the rear bumper today. Made a start on cleaning up the tank guard. and I had a load of bolts delivered to put it all back together! Foz

Almost stripped all of the paint from the rear bumper, getting there... I'm also not confident these will hold my bumpers on, so I need to get a more heavy duty set made. Foz

    Discovery 1 300tdi

I'm undecided on what to do with my rear bumper, I'm not sure if I should paint it and sell it and buy a tubular bumper instead - as I prefer how they look and i'll need to modify my current one to make it fit with a body lift. So for now i've given up with the rear bumper and starterd with the...

Good point, could just be the UJ - my prop was knackered through from the UJ being so bad. New "wide angle" prop was about 60 quid. Foz

My understanding is that a double carden prop is superior on and off-road.

Yeah it's a nice little addition to my dash :) Your Disco looks very clean as always, mine will never be that clean. Ever. I bought some new gaiters but i haven't fitted them yet, did you glue them to the plastic surround or use a different method? Thanks.

General wear usually, or if they aren't greased on a regular basis they will go quicker. Ok i briefly looked into this, but i was in a rush and a budget at the time. The double cardan prop is better, but more expensive - I believe the D2 has a double cardan prop at the front. As the diff and...

No problem :) You can also jack up a wheel and rotate it, which will spin the prop and you can hear the prop making nasty noises (if it's knackered) and you'll see if it spins smoothly. But it'll need to be out of gear so make sure you chock a wheel or something.

    Lifting a D2 'properly'

I lifted my Disco because I like modifying things and learning stuff - but it isn't a daily driver so it doesn't matter. 300bhp/ton has been very thorough in his response and I agree with everything he has said - I also learnt a couple of bits. As mentioned, you may not even need a lift - have...

Have you checked your propshaft? Mine did that when the front prop was shot. Foz

What kind of noise? A hole wore through my clutch fork so I just had no pedal, and whilst the gearbox was out I replaced the clutch too.

    Disco 1 Bumper relocation brackets

Hi, I raised the body on my D1 by 2 inches a couple of weeks ago - I did buy some bumper relocation brackets but they weren't very thick so I won't use them - I'm pretty sure if I used my winch it would rip the bumper off. Where can I get a decent set of bumper relocation brackets? Has...

Since I had replaced the rear crossmember, and it was all shiny and new I thought it would be best to clean up and paint the rear chassis. I thought it would be quite straight forward to remove the tank guard, paint it all up let it dry and put it back together - how i was wrong. This is what...

    help advise and parts please

Hi, Unfortunately i don't know the answer to these questions, but you might be better off posting in this forum - https://www.landyzone.co.uk/forum/range-rover.10/ - as it's for Range Rovers. Well, maybe this is the bracket you're after but i'm not sure as I'm not familiar with p38s -...
