    Driver member upgrade to heavy-duty?

Mine is a 1995 110 (VIN: SALLDHMV8TA975201) - the front axle number is: 64I 17310A - what type of flange would I then have? I have already bought a bunch of parts that didn't fit as I didn't do a thorough research before buying - would rather avoid doing the same this time round I will stick...

    Driver member upgrade to heavy-duty?

Hey all, I changed my hub seals yesterday and my mechanic told me the the driving member teeth are all eaten up so I should get another one - few questions: 1-if the driving member has the teeth eaten up, is another part also worth being replaced? 2- what driving member would you suggest...

Leaking from differential housing + transfer case (6x6)

Yes I tried mounting it yesterday but the shield was too tight against the diff housing. Also the nut provided with the kit didn't turn on so I had to use the old one Hence can you please confirm which is the right part number here that comes without that shield? Thanks a lot!

Leaking from differential housing + transfer case (6x6)

Hey @jamesmartin not sure if i misinterpreted your recommendation but I didn't buy the aeu2515 - I got everything else but the kit (STC4403) doesn't include this oil seal (aeu2515) - shall I then buy this AEU2515 oilseal before proceeding with the job or can I use the old one? thanks a lot!

Leaking from differential housing + transfer case (6x6)

Great, I will do that tomorrow as I am working on this. I will also replace oil with semi-synthetic :) For the bearing then, best to grease them up or it not recommended in these type of bearings? A great ride in the Eastern part of Ghana awaits me once this work is done! looking forward to it!

Painting the chassis of my 6x6 Defender in Ghana

Hi All, As you might have read in another thread I am preparing my 6x6 Land Rover Defender for an overland trip across Africa. I am in Ghana at the moment. The chassis is in great conditions - I want to paint it as i will be staying on the coast for long. I have found the Jotun products here...

Overland Defender Chassis HDG Vs. Zinga Vs. External Coating

Cool - is this Zingatarfree something like a Jotun epoxy mastic 87? A very hard paint applied on top of the Zinga to give it a longer lasting protection?

Prep to fit new fuel tank

Great feedback thanks guys - here in Ghana people normally don't know much what they are doing - the compresson available is a 10bar one - too much for the 2mm thick tank I have?

Prep to fit new fuel tank

Hi @discomania you can't believe but I haven't yet been able to sort this out - but hopefully I am getting there. In my researches in Ghana, I found a zinch-rich paint called zinga, and I think it'd be perfect for the tank. So plan is now to: 1) sand-blast 2) apply zinga 3) apply gravitex...

Overland Defender Chassis HDG Vs. Zinga Vs. External Coating

Thanks @boguing for sharing how you applied it - the Zingatarfree is recommended for use in duplex systems with ZINGA for application on structures in immersion or embedded in soil - what are the benefits of applying it on the axle? what's the purpose of applying on top of it the 2k gloss ...

    Defender material composition (steel/metal/...)

Hi guys, I have been looking for this info but can't find any sufficient clarity: Can anyone point me where I can see what each component of the defender is made of (e.g. doors, floor panels, bulk-head, body-shell, etc...). I would like to know to be sure to 1) use the right primer/paint/ 2)use...

Overland Defender Chassis HDG Vs. Zinga Vs. External Coating

Hi guys, I am stripping down my Defender to prep it for my Africa Overland. I am down to 3 options: -Hot-Dip Galvanising -Zinga (Cold Galvanising method): Zinga is an active zinc performance coating which works in conjunction with the metal beneath whereas paints are only passive barriers...

DIY: Applying insulation to my Landy

Thanks! very useful videos indeed from the Australian chap ! He just used dynamat and put the closed-cell only on ceiling and doors though... He used a 3M sound deadening paint - can't find it in Europe - is there any you would recommend? Gravitex says to be sounddeadening in the TDS (attached)
