What did you do with your Range Rover today

(not today but earlier this week) Swapped my EAS valve block for a refurbished one, the exhaust valve was knackered on my old one which led to much merriment of the 'driving around on the bumpstops' type.

    P38A New clock!

The clock in my dashboard doesn't have a light in it, so I can't see the time when it's dark. This bugged me so much, I made a replacement clock (3d Printed, Arduino driven LCD) . Oh, and I stuck some USB ports in there as well (they kick out a total of 3Amps, so enough to charge a new fangled...

newbie! P38 cutting out when warm

Sounds like the problem I had with my crankshaft sensor. Would run until warm then the engine would 'hiccup' and die. If you happened to have the throttle up a bit when the hiccup happened it would power through and keep running. If it died it then wouldn't start again until it cooled down...

    P38A EAS compressor pressure

HI all, I'm running through this checklist from @wammers on checking the eas compressor and valve block. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/checking-eas-compressor-and-diaphragm-valve.172555/ I've got to the second bit, taken the outlet pipe off the compressor, start it running and put...

    P38A Interesting supercharger kit

The L322 weighs more than the P38 and the supercharged version of that is fairly nippy. Not saying you could get the venerable Rover V8 to that level of performance without throwing stupid money at it, but I bet you could get better than stock with a bit of money :)

    P38A Interesting supercharger kit

There's a few people in a thread on 'another site' with supercharged P38s who say they run fine and the starved cylinder thing is a rumour put around by a certain company who sell expensive blocks / cylinder heads as an alternative to supercharging. No idea if that's true, but does anyone have...

    P38A Interesting supercharger kit

It would only need a manifold to fit on the Rover V8t though I think? There's plenty of them about since people apparently bung them in race cars. Again, I'm not buying one, just looking for more info for when the P38 gets retired from day to day duties and I can play with it :) Good spot...

    P38A Interesting supercharger kit

Unfortunately I don't have £650 to spare, and can't take the risk of converting my transmission into a series of interestingly shaped pieces of scrap, but this caught my eye on ebay yesterday: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163357904357 Does anyone know anything about these things? Anyone seen...

    P38A Crankshaft position sensor

Hi All, I'm swapping out my crankshaft sensor later today, anyone got any tips / things to look out for? I've had a look on rave, and searched the forums and it seems like I'll find it on the opposite side of the bell housing from the starter motor under a heat shield. The main...

L322 How many days trouble free

My beloved P38 lulled me into a false sense of security over the weekend by getting me down to Oxford and back with nary a problem. Didn't even drop oil all over the drive of the nice air BnB we stayed in. Then it cut out on my way into work on Monday. Thought the fuel gauge might be lying to...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Had my 2001 P38 in for its first MOT since owning it today. After some recent fun with both the ABS & EAS I was a tad worried but.... Offside rear tyre failed Near side windscreen wiper failed Near side rear tyre advisory Multiple oil leaks advisory Pretty pleased with that, got a couple of...

    P38A Interior retrimmed?

Is yours a grey / black interior? From what I've seen those seem to hide the wear and tear quite well. Mine's lightstone and, although it's decent, there's definite signs of age around the steering wheel leather and the drivers door card.

    D2 wheels onto P38

Thanks Wammers. I don't have a spare wheel anyway (the Gas tank is in there) but it sounds like 19s are the only ones bigger than the 18s that it's worth bothering with.

    P38A Interior retrimmed?

I've had one from a breaker that is in reasonable condition, but you're never going to get a 20 year old interior that looks anything like new unless it's been stored in a crate since it was made!

    D2 wheels onto P38

Okie dokie, I'll steer clear of those then!

    D2 wheels onto P38

@wammers can you fit the 20" L322 wheels onto the P38 using a spigot ring? Is there clearance in the wheel arches? Does it massively degrade the ride?

    P38A Interior retrimmed?

Hi all, Has anyone had the interior of their car retrimmed? (ie: seats, panels, steering wheel, carpets etc) If so, how much did it set you back? Mine is a little tatty looking, just 18 years worth of wear and tear I think, so weighing up whether it's worth getting it all replaced.

    P38A ABS / TC lights, 'sticky' ?

I don't have a deep socket big enough, but I do have a pipe wrench and a bit of lateral thinking! Thanks for the pressure switch tip @Grrrrrr much appreciated.

    P38A ABS / TC lights, 'sticky' ?

If we're doing useful info..... Swapping the pressure switch is a doddle, and doesn't require bleeding the brakes (well, I didn't, your mileage may vary). There's only a couple of complications. One is the pressure switch connector, there's a metal retaining spring clamp thing on it, you'll...
