Thanks for that,I must confess I needed the truck for log deliveries today, so I trimmed the rubber bushes and put it back without the washers,got me through the day which was great,i will get the cole chisel sharpened and get on it over the hols...thanks again

Yeh that's right the thread will not come out the bottom far enough to get the nut on like I can't compress the rubber bushes the above sounds like a plan to hopefully squash them a bit I'm also reading that with these Terraferma HD shocks I may need to cut those cups off, some frigging...

Thanks, Flat,I have tried the such like and loading the truck up with logs, but its the distance between in the cup that's short and cant see a way of pushing the shock further in to give me more length at the thread

Just came in out of the dark and cold, trying to fit my new shocks on the rear 110 hi-cap 2005 and the washers don't want to go up into the bottom cup? remember last time I had a nightmare trying to get that bottom nut on, just not enough thread sticking out and cant compress the rubber bush...

Update! I replaced the sponge crankcase filter and air filter while I had them apart And am pleased to say NO smoke whatsoever now, so thanks for all the advice guys

Thanks 121k on the car it does have service but not sure how many garages would be bothering with the crankcase filter So I will check this filter and did you say there was a valve somewhere? cheers Gary

It's pre-facelift 2003 td4 are you saying that the filter could be the reason for the smoke?

Help! My Freelander has started smoking pretty badly seems to happen when its left ticking over then I drive off and a lot of blue-grey smoke then clears and nothing,any thoughts? im not sure what crankcase filter its running. Many Thanks

Thanks for the posts, I think I shall have a go with the B.P ones This OEM gear seems to have turned in to a bit of a racket, a lot of unknown makes claiming to be OEM My reason for this post was you may of all said get genuine, as the cheapos are art worth fitting Thanks Again
