    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

Just been nibbling away at the outskirts of the job again. Got the first coat of smooth hammerite satin on the underside if the seatbox. A word of caution to my many fellow puraflex 40 users. It doesn't like hammerite. This hasn't happened before so I don't know what's different now...

    Looks good to me.

    My RRC Project

My two-penneth would be to return the stainless one and go standard for now. Gets the big project moving and could make an interesting mini project at a later date. I appreciate accessibility is going to be harder later but also having everything in place to show you exactly where it needs to go...

    My RRC Project

So sorry to hear about your problems. I hope you’re able to find a solution. Take your time and maybe walk away from it for a day or two. Things can sometimes look a little better after a break. Good luck.

    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

The red ones are plenty thick enough really. Any more layers on top and i'd be like a Michelin man. If I ever fall over while wearing them i'll just have to lay on the drive until somebody comes along to help me get up. Like a turtle stuck on it's back. 😆

    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

I'm getting absolutely nowhere at the moment. Every Friday I think to myself that i'll get such and such done this weekend. Then Mrs LincolnSteve comes along and says 'Don't forget we need to do this and this and this and be here and there and everywhere'. Then LincolnSteve junior needs his time...

    Defender 90 Refresh Lincolnshire

If they hung freshly painted car body panels up in art galleries I would happily stand and stare at them for hours.

Chassis repairs and rusty bits on Peggy the ex farmy pick-up

Might it be best to avoid layers? One less place for water to creep in between.

    Chassis bush removal tool

You would need several hammers. Looks a bit 'single use' to me.

Parts suppliers - its a minefield!!!

I live about 20 minutes away from Rimmer Bros so wish I could get more from them. Trouble is they are way more expensive most of the time. It's still just britpart parts at the end of the day. They used to be cheap enough for MG parts when I had my midget but that was a long time ago.

Parts suppliers - its a minefield!!!

    I can't really be arsed.

Parts suppliers - its a minefield!!!

My rocker is still nice and firmly attached thanks and i'm telling you that I don't always find it easy to get all the parts I want, at reasonable quality, at reasonable prices, with reasonable shipping when I want them. Unless you have tried to order the exact parts I wanted, at the exact time...

Parts suppliers - its a minefield!!!

Trying to get parts is a nightmare. As most above say. You may get a nice order going with Paddocks but then they don't stock some obscure bit but Craddocks do. Then the rest of the stuff you want is more expensive at Craddocks but they do stock it. Do you pay postage on the single item? Can...
