P38A 95 DT brake bleeding (or rather lack of fluid)

Thanks guys, will look at an ezibleed tool and see if I can find some perseverance under the spare wheel! Colour of the fluid is honey yellow. Lost a lot of fluid 3 years ago when clutch slave cylinder died and then 18months or so did bleed all the brakes through to replace fluid and then...

P38A 95 DT brake bleeding (or rather lack of fluid)

Hi Wammers, I have tried to bleed the brakes about 5 times now. First four using different singlehanded tools bodges. But the last time was with a peddle push and key turner following the instructions in RAVE. Am I just not getting enough fluid through? Bleeding the front brakes I used about .25...

P38A 95 DT brake bleeding (or rather lack of fluid)

Should also say have checked the fuses and relays, relays all clicked and gave continuity as per diagram on relay. Fuses all continuity checked and with a fuse tester worked but didn't show much current draw, cannot remember which but think one fuse plugged in gave 250mA and the other 330mA but...

P38A 95 DT brake bleeding (or rather lack of fluid)

Hi Tomcat59alan, Have given that a try and even with the nipple removed and pipes not clamped, only a slight dribble of fluid. Tried turning on ignition and foot on brake peddle and whilst I couldn't be under there at the same time there wasn't any evidence of more fluid coming out. Blockage...

P38A 95 DT brake bleeding (or rather lack of fluid)

P38A 1995 DT ABS and brake light staying on.

Hi Guys, Not made much progress, as I moved the car from the road on to the drive and I noticed the brake peddle has lots of travel. So rather than start to check the ABS sensors went for the option of changing the ABS power unit as had a spare. Fairly simple to change but still have the ABS...

P38A Diesel, what oil pressure should I have?

Thanks Saint.V8 hadn't noticed that or at least registered what it was saying! Thanks Wammers, that makes me fell better when someone infinitely more knowledgeable says that. Have changed the oil and afraid I have added some Lucas oil Stabiser. Ran the engine and a short drive and showed about...

P38A Diesel, what oil pressure should I have?

Thanks Saint.V8 I have had a look through RAVE but the info has eluded me. Looking through the internet found this: http://www.landroversonly.com/forums/f40/installing-oil-pressure-gauge-96922/ which had a comment with this info in: "4. If your engine is cold, no, you don't have to drain...

P38A Diesel, what oil pressure should I have?

Hi Guys, Since lossing nearly all the oil from the engine when not fitting an secondhand oil cooler properly I have added a mechanical oil pressure gauge to the engine via the oil pressure switch to see what oil pressure there is in the engine. So. When started up the oil pressure was 30psi ( I...

P38A Not a great Friday evening: Think I might have destroyed the engine this.

Well I posted the other day about a clogged up second hand oil cooler for a p38 diesel. Which I managed to clean, but it has all been a bad job. Went to fit it last night as had some oil on the drive (in trouble, silent type with you know who) in the dark and hail with a torch. Crossed the...

P38A Cleaning engine oil cooler (inside)

Thanks guys, have given it some more tlc today and seems fairly clear, petrol, washing powder, boiling water and final reverse flushed with hose pipe. A piece of 15mm copper with an olive tightened on a couple of millimetres from the end seated in the oil cooler quite well. Will give it some...

P38A Cleaning engine oil cooler (inside)

Hi All, Had the opportunity to remove some parts form a seized 2.5 diesel (the oil hadn't been changed for years and engine seized. Since I am keen to take my 95 manual DT on a good trip this year, thought I might do some jobs. One was to change the oil cooler pipes. So noticed the doner pipes...
