    Britpart TD5 exhaust....

I've had a Britpart front section and center pipe for over three years and they're fine but it's a decat and center box delete so it's hard to **** them up. My dad's decat pipe cracked at the flexi alright but the third one with a different design is perfect

    Oil leak and level dropping.

Not the rocker cover gasket finding it's way down around the bellhousing?

TD5 aluminium rad and fan options

That's true but at least the coolant in the rad should stay abit warmer than when the viscous is cooling it at the moment. Tracked down my problem to a faulty tensioner though as pas pump and waterpump was slipping abit so wasn't able to do its job well enough under load and low rpm Still...

Defender td5 with possible headgasket failure

Injectors are easy to remove. just keep note of which one is which if putting the engine back together without coding software at hand. For water to be in the oil, it'll more than likely be a crack in the head, headgasket failure or a crack in the block. It's usually oil in the water if you...

110 With 35". Please Read Before Telling Me To Google..

I've 35 BFG muds with a 2" lift and extended arches. The original wings aren't cut so it just clears. If cut the arches back to suit the extended wings or fitted a set of spectre arches, might even get away with fitting them with no lift at all which would look pretty cool :) As requested :)...

    Loss of drive (TD5)

I had a 1.2 Disco transfer box in my last 110 and it was brilliant even with 33s. First gear was a little bit tall alright as I do quite alot of towing but engine was modded a bit so had plenty torque to get over it. Even had a benefit when towing very heavy loads too as could stay in 4th gear...

    Defender 90 TD5 - Remapped. Power issues beyond 65mph

Yep, viscous snaps plenty! if idling can really hear the moment it locks up and puts the load on the engine for a moment. Haha, my Fiesta is only 800kg and is able to keep up with Type R civic's when on track lol. My E30 318is is maybe around 115mph or so terminal speed out of a toll-ahem...

    Defender 90 TD5 - Remapped. Power issues beyond 65mph

I know the viscous is doing it's job! Can bloody hear it!!! It's just that it doesn't seem to be quite enough unless engine is reved abit more to really get it drawing a decent amount of air. Half the problem was a friend temporarily put my reg plate on the grille while helping me do a few jobs...

TD5 aluminium rad and fan options

My 110 seems even though cooling system is working very well as while offroading yesterday and doing it's job nearly too well with following friends and very little being asked from it especially as we were cold inside the Defender so heater was on full wack at times which was even robbing more...

    Defender 90 TD5 - Remapped. Power issues beyond 65mph

Thinking this could well be the case. Got the injectors tested before I fitted them when putting the engine together and they are serviceable and will work fine but the tester said they could be slightly better for flow if he was being really particular. It runs perfect but as I said, I'm...

    Defender 90 TD5 - Remapped. Power issues beyond 65mph

Just doing abit of reading as can't sleep from falling asleep on the sofa early last night from aforementioned food coma :D I noticed on when checking for faults, I seem to be getting Driver Demand high the odd time. I must check again does this happen after it goes into limp mode but wondering...

    Defender 90 TD5 - Remapped. Power issues beyond 65mph

As already mentioned, an engine is just a fancy air pump at the end of the day. The main driving force of even a bloody bicycle pump is you pushing the air out of the cylinder and into the tyre... not because your superheating the air lol. Saying heat alone drives the turbo and is the main...

    Defender 90 TD5 - Remapped. Power issues beyond 65mph

Out fkr Out for a spin there again. IATs around 14-22 degrees and AAP at about a 1000 pascals. Fuel temp just for sake of only one left out is about 45-50 degrees

    Defender 90 TD5 - Remapped. Power issues beyond 65mph

Yup, that was one of my next things to check and then do a permanent job for it :) Going to make up an inline sensor and then have a gauge for fuel pressure either in a seperate VDO gauge on the dash as have a few spaces now on the mud pods etc or use one of the outputs on the EMS for it.

Defender 110 2 door to DCPU ideas before I start? :)

Been thinking a while about a new Defender build after my old one got wrote off. Picked up an ex ESB (irish electricity board) to keep me going for a while and then started thinking about making that a dcpu again, a crewcab CSW or start from scratch and build a 130 with a TDV6/V8, 3.2 tdci or...

    Defender 90 TD5 - Remapped. Power issues beyond 65mph

Yep, done it both with MAF connected and unplugged and no real difference. I had a very similar issue before with my last 110 where it wouldn't pull beyond 3000rpm for love nor money but was prefect when disconnected and then with a new MAF fitted. I can't remember if I still had the standard...

    Defender 90 TD5 - Remapped. Power issues beyond 65mph

Jesus.... and I thought I was opening a thread on how some TD5s strangely don't like to rev beyond 3k :D As flat says, even though blankets and exhaust wrapping will only have a marginal effect on a TD5 or most road going engines, it has an effect nonetheless in a good way. rapid cooling such...

LED Headlights - Which are best?

Discovery Box in a TD5 Defender, my experience

On a TD5 with 33s or smaller, Jr's a no brainer in my opinion especially if it's tuned a little bit. My last 110 with the disco box, remap, VNT, Intercooler etc was lovely at motorway speeds to the point even once when the gearbox **** itself, it was still usable for the rest of the journey...
