New Style Tail/Stop Lights Problem .

Hi All , I bought new rear lights for my Defender 300tdi . They differ from the originals in that they're one piece and regular bulbs won't fit properly . They're tight to put in and won't twist round . Only the tail lights work , no brake lights . Bulbs , fuse , and brake light switch are good...

    300tdi Oil light flickering

Well chaps , panic over ! Turned out to be nothing more than a bad connection at the switch . The spade connector was bent downwards putting a strain on the wire and causing it to be bent over at a sharp angle . I just straightened it with my thumb and everything returned to normal . I will fit...

    300tdi Oil light flickering

While I'm waiting for my switch and pressure gauge to arrive I thought I'd take another look at the wiring . There was a bit of a break in the outer covering of the wires coming from the oil switch but the inner wires looked fine with no bare wire showing . Also it wasn't even close to anything...

    300tdi Oil light flickering

Hi Chaps , the oil light in my 300tdi 110 flickered briefly on a couple of occasions during a long journey and since then has started to do it more often and for longer . There's plenty of oil in it ( if anything it's slightly over full ) and the oil and filter were changed about 1000 miles ago...

Which electric fuel pump for veg oil conversion ?

Hi , What would be the best electric fuel pump to act as a lift pump for the veg oil in my 300tdi two tank veg oil conversion ? Alternatively , I'm told I could " share " the original lift pump . Anyone got any idea how to do that ? Thanks for any help .

New Brake Pads are Too Thick ... or is it me ?

I think I've discovered the problem . There's a thinner pad STC1601 which has a total thickness of 14.5 mm . The ones I have are 17.5 - 18 mm . Apparently these go on later Defenders . A simple exchange at the motor factors should sort it .

New Brake Pads are Too Thick ... or is it me ?

Hi , Tried to replace the rear pads on my '95 axled defender 110 today but the pads are about 1/16th" too thick to go in . The pistons are fully back . They pads wont go in at all . Could I have got dodgy pads ? Thanks in advance , Gerry .

Is My Injection Pump Knackered ?

Sorry , forgot to mention I have power to solenoid when ignition is turned on , but it only clicks when I flick the detached wire against the terminal . I removed the spring and plunger and refitted the solenoid but it makes no difference .

Is My Injection Pump Knackered ?

Following the breakdown of my '95 300tdi Defender which gave the appearance of running out of diesel even though it hadn't , I've done the following to try and get it going again . Replaced the leaky head seal , as per the YouTube video by Dieselgeek . Primed the fuel filter using the lever on...

Land Rover Died On The Road .

Driving home from the beach last Sunday and next thing my 110 300tdi started to lose power and came to a halt . It was as if it had run out of diesel but I had half a tankful . Got towed home and this what I've found so far . No diesel to injector pipes , lift pump works and diesel comes to...

    300tdi Pump Seal Question .

Hello . I'm having a go at replacing the head seal O-ring ( in situ ) on my 300tdi Defender . I'm at the stage where I'm ready to loosen the bolts to allow the head to move back just enough to allow access to the O-ring . To prevent a shim in the pump from falling out of place the pump should...
