    Series 3 bulkhead repair attempt

You can buy bulkhead ends from various places. Installing requires a good fabricator. If you’ve got that level of corrosion how are the footwells? If you have corrosion above the level of the pedals that’s bad , very bad.

Is it possible to make a Series hard top completely water tight?

Good question. I think you'll find most responses that they now leak after 35-40 years. Taking you literally, my first landy was a 75' SWB heard top which I owned from 80 to 82. I lived in Shetland then and the weather in winter was extreme. The landy didn't leak at all. It never had...

    Hi from Edinburgh

Welcome. I'm just 24 miles north. Like sound of your Carawagon . A big beastie landy- 2.6l petrol engine. Any photos? A valuable landy.

    Old tools for old Landys

A lot of suppliers quote metric as a default. I'm reluctantly having to order in metric but there's still whitworth etc . I find that the landy parts manual is confusing but suppliers tend only offer metric. I'd keep all your spanners n sockets and use as required. Seems landys are held together...

    looking for a series landy.

The V8 is great engine. JLR did make SWB Defenders for the USA market but they're unobtainium here and rare as hens teeth. My preferred dream series would be a SWB with the 2.6l straight six, but you need a deeper bulkhead to take the length- a fantastic burbly engine. Alloy heads are prone to...

    Series 3 Rear Suspension

The rears are about 7 years old but tired. Too much work in one go to do the whole lot. I have to grovel on the ground to do them and each end needs 4 axle stands. I'm happy with the front it's the rears next. Hoping they'll be easier than las time cos I reamed the holes and used copper grease.

    looking for a series landy.

You're highly unlikely to find what you're looking for because it's non standard. Why not create what you want by buying a S3. By the time you do that it's hardly original, seems pointless.

    Series 3 Rear Suspension

Interesting. I fitted new standard front springs recently. All torqued and distances as per manual. End result is the front springs are sitting very high relative to the rear. I even had to adjust the lights for the MOT it's so pronounced. Thoughts?

    Series Landies Towing Mad Stuff

With respect that looks as a largish rib and twin axle trailer to be under the 2 ton towing limit for an S3. An Ifor Williams 110 or equivalent horse box with two horses is over the specified limit. Anything over two tons in a SWB is both over the limit and a strain on everything including the...

Series 3 Has anyone fitted a diesel gearbox to a petrol sIII?

They're the same. They all whine; it's a 30 year old gearbox. Suggest you do an oil change and see what drops out. Thanks

    Eh up all!

Welcome. Nice to see an S3, a late model too and original looking. Would look great on 750/16 tyres. Enjoy pootering along the Cornish lanes- you'll be able to see over the hedgerows.

Hood Sticks/parts - Britpart or Exmoor?

Had to order bolts n nuts for the tilt and Exmoor took the money but didn't have the parts in stock. No explanation until I chased them up. When the parts arrived all was there plus a whole load of other bolts I didn't need and still don't know what they're for. All fitted okay.

Bearmach side steps for series 3

I took mine off cos they rot and rot the chassis. They also compromise ground clearance off road. Personally I don't like the look either. I took the rear step off as well.
