Hi, I watched a couple to vids on how to replace the rear oil seal but I need to fit the seal to the fly wheel housing first. What’s tool can you use to drive to the seal into the housing other then the very expensive Land Rover tools? I have just measured the seal and it’s 115mm wide.

Hi, For my 200tdi can someone tell me the Torque Setting for the 4x M8 bolts that hold on the pulley to the crankshaft damper (item 12).

Any recommendations?

Via water temperature.... but also thinking to have an override switch also.

Hi, I am changing my fan to an electric one on the rad. Regarding doing the change am I ok to leave the old fan removed?

Hi all the freeze spray worked.... would recommend this as an option if yours is putting up a fight.

Smile it looks so easy.... that will be my last option as I don’t want to damage the seals. Have ordered some freeze spray that I am going to try first.

Hi, quick question in the gasket kit STC1557 you get three black oil seals could anyone reply back noting the product code for each one if to buy them separately?

Hi Guys, Can i have a 2nd opinion on what vibration damper i need for my 200tdi (item 7 on the attachment). The defender i have has power steering but no A/C... so is it EER751 item i need?

Hi All, I got NRC5544 to replace the knackered ones on my rad frame... but can i get these new grommets in, NO :). Destroyed two already, they are just so stiff and very tight. Does anyone have any tricks on getting these in or a better alternative item?

Hi All, From under going replacing my timing belt and taking off the crankshaft damper i noted major damage to it (by past owner) and the need to replace it and the keyway insert on the crankshaft itself. Reading up i need to remove the crankshaft timing gear which needs a tool of LRT 12-078...

Hi guys, The engine is out of the defender the Irwin socket is just to wide to get it on the bolt. To drill out the bolt heads any tricks of the trade out there? Any special drill bits to use? Not looking forward to it :(

So an update.... Good news bad news. 1 out of 4 bolts came off, the other three their heads are rounded off now. Can't get Irwin socket in there to try and undo it. Wish I never started now. Any ideas guys on how to get these three bolts out in this very tight space?

Has anyone managed to get a 1/2 M10 sockets on these bolts before? Used my small size M10 socket last night and the socket broke due to the force of trying to get it off.

Very nice, £100 a pop.... seen one on eBay for £60 not sure in taking the risk?

Thanks for the heads up.... yep it’s so hard to get a socket onto these bolts. For the replacement bolts was these Allen key key bolts you put back?
