Freelander 1 Help needed please or divine intervention

If you can move the bit to a known position you may be able to snag it with a blob of something sticky on the end of a piece of wire. On the other hand it may be worth pulling the head if only to save your sanity. It's not really that terrible of a job.

Mine is dry as well. You're a brave man putting electronics in there!

Mr. Hippo is correct. The cubby contains the jack, and there is just about enough space to hold your lunch.....or a couple of small Koi depending on your leak situation. :)

    Show us yer Freelander!

There is literally no space under the boot floor so that's out, and the box I am looking at is the size of an army barracks box. It is painted with a black wrinkle finish so it would be relatively inconspicuous in the black interior.

    quick Q

I was just looking at those buttons on my Canadian facelift this morning and wasn't sure what the second was for. Now I know. Thanks!

The folding seats are quite handy. Folded for everyday use but set up in seconds for occasional passengers. Like Nodge says they do take up a fair bit of space though. The space under the seats in the rear footwells is a good spot to stash small packages and similar stuff out of sight. One of...

    HRH's Disco Demo Derby

Serves me right for making the assumption that HRH was driving the latest and greatest. I forgot the Royals reputation for frugality. It really wouldn't have surprised me if a Disco 5 fell over. They look awfully tall and narrow, and of course that bloody awful offset number plate must throw off...

    HRH's Disco Demo Derby

My Bad! When I heard that HRH had wrecked a Landy I made the assumption that it was the latest. I forgot the Royal's reputation for being frugal! It really wouldn't surprise me if a Disco 5 went over. Following them on the street they sure seem tall and narrow. (Never mind that bloody awful...

    HRH's Disco Demo Derby

My Dad's car started getting mysterious dents when he got into his 80s. We ended up asking his doctor to get the Motor Vehicle Branch to pull his license. It was very tough on the poor old guy as it really restricted his mobility, but at least he didn't roll his car. We couldn't ask his...

    HRH's Disco Demo Derby

I have to say I'm glad the injuries were minor. I doubt very much that I would be able to walk away from something like that at 97. I doubt very much that I will be above ground at 97 for that matter!

    HRH's Disco Demo Derby

Sorry, not Freelander related (Although a media report I read said his Disco 5 was a Freelander) But this was too good to pass up. :) pic found on the net without attribution EDIT: Just saw another pic and it did look like a Freelander 2. Can anyone confirm this?

What have you done to your Freelander today

They are the same basic mirror just with the lights added. I suppose you could say they were deleted for the Hippo as it had the headliner mounted lights. That would have been difficult on an MGF :).

What have you done to your Freelander today

On the MGF forums modifying the mirrors is a popular project. Guys have opened them up and built in dash cams and even digital temperature readouts.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Back to the interior light discussion. I bought an LED festoon bulb for the main roof light and it lights the interior up like a tanning bed! I tried some 5w LEDs in the roof map lights but they were dimmer than the originals. I have a spare MGF mirror somewhere in my parts bins so I will have...

    Freelander 2 (LR2) Many thanks

Pity about the price but at least it's OK in the end. Glad you got it solved!

Great Pics! :) Would you believe the t-shirt I am wearing right now has the same Mexican day of the dead pic printed on it...Less the spy vs spy guy! Nice Landy's and I quite like the kneelie at the bottom as well! FWIW, Here's my Hippo. Must take some new pics! This thread motivated to get out...

    Heavy Steering

That's a bad break Pingboy. Hoping your Hippo isn't a V6 as the rack is really well hidden on those! :(

What have you done to your Freelander today

Now that the uprated VIS motors and the replacement plenum chamber have been on the V6 for a month I ran the diagnostics on the ECU and was thrilled to see there were NO codes showing. This is the first time in the 2 1/2 years I have owned it that has happened. Made my day!
