I have been offered, separately, a set of ex Discovery Freestyle alloy wheels and a set of only slightly worn Avon Rangemaster 7.50 r 16 tyres. Can the tyres be safely fitted to the alloys or are the alloys too wide for this size and tread ? They are meant to go on a 1996 90 Defender 300 tdi...

It appears that the power steering box is one from a Daihatsu Foutrak but I don't know what other Daihatsu parts are needed to make a complete kit as yet, but I am researching. PM me if you want to know more.

I had my '62 2a with the semi crash 'box converted to a 200tdi last year. My mechanic mate told me just to take it easy in 1st and 2nd and let the torque and turbo do the business in 3rd and 4th. Mine's on standard boost but no intercooler - still looking in to that one. Good luck.
