@Frenchdame - Having them switched off your fog lights wastes the purpose of the fogs. Driving in actual fog, not a pathetic mist, fog lights allow you to illuminate and be seen, but don't bounce the light back into your face like headlights do, because they're nice and low. It's a shame the...

Outside temp is s good idea depending on where you live / drive, just lately I've set off on a drive and it's been a few degrees + and without really noticing bar looking at the temp gauge it's dropped a few degrees -. I like to know the outside temp. EGT? Volts?
