Yeah I assume the battery probably would cause other things to play up. Well I did try my best to completely clean the connectors, I filed the main corroded pins down and smothered the connectors in darathene, including the circuit boards inside the amp itself and allowed it to dry overnight and...

UPDATE: Had the amp connected up tonight, still with initial strange noises when ignition isnt turned past 0. As I turned the key from position 0 to 1 it made the speakers output a scratching noise (and a "pop"), like interference as I turned it - this makes me think... bad earth/dirty...

Ooo I have sound - but still not right... I cleaned up the connectors on the amp, cleaned the circuits inside the amp aswell, some little points of corrosion that may have contributed to the problem, and when I plugged it back in and stuck the key in the ignition and turned to position 1...

Ok doke, well I've cleaned up the connections anyway and will plug it in and hope that luck is on my side (for once! :P) and if that doesnt work I'll order a new one. Cheers guys

Yeah probably not,but that requires effort! Although I do know some things that are more intricate can't be reset by a basic diagnostics kit, think some of them need a fully capable BMW system.

Well when we had it vetted by our usual mechanic his diagnostics kit found a list of errors (at the start of this thread) and then quite a few people said that the list resembled work that is carried out on the RR during it's lifetime - so we had them reset and rescanned and none appeared again...

All codes cleared, so bought the car - what can I say - AMAZING!! Can't get over the sound of that big V8 :) Only thing to do now is sort the sound system :P Thanks for all your input guys!!

Ahh sorry I read your first post wrong! :) That's not so much of an issue as we can live without sound, but I'll have a go at fixing it/find a second hand replacement if we get the car :)

Haha I only uploaded them today, the only old photo is the one of it not in the garage! We started stripping it a few weeks ago and have taken all interior out so far bar the dash, that should be coming out next weekend. Therefore there are no future pics! haha - should be able to put them up...

Hi discomark - when you say the bit that goes around the gearsticks do you mean the whole of the centre console shroud/cover? I'm pretty sure we'd take a tenner for it but the only problem would be getting it to you - postage would probably cost a fortune!

Yeah I remember reading that earthing connections are cause for issue aswell, thanks for that :) And datatek, when you say the "box" are you reffering to the transfer box or the amp? I've seen things that say the transfer box is usually not problematic, but rather the motor that changes it into...
