    Transfer box whine.

Aye, they're not expensive and they tend to wear around where the seal sits and it'll cause it to leak. Oh and refit with new seal, nut and fibre washer. Get a good quality oem seal too

    Defender 90 heaters and coolers

You'll probably find that just sealing the system makes a massive difference. Most people overlook it when trying to improve the heating and instead focus on the heater matrix itself. The heating in my 1996 110 is brilliant

    Transfer box whine.

Remove the prop and handbrake drum. Take out the speedo drive. Remove the oil seal, big nut and washers, take the flange off then the big circlip that holds in the bearing. You can then either use a slide hammer to remove the shaft with the bearing on, or loosely refit the flange and nut and...

    TD5 Fuel pump access panel

I just eyeballed it. Never even thought about having a plate to screw over the hole but all the same I guess

    TD5 Fuel pump access panel

I cut one in mine to make it easier to access the top of the 110 300tdi tank. I just cut out a square section, hinged it, stuck a wee catch on and it works fine. It's hidden under the matting so you don't even know its there

300tdi belt tensioner - Dayco or other make?

I originally had a Dayco fitted but was trying to chase the source of a squeaking noise. I replaced it with another unbranded one which had more play in it and made the noise worse. I sent that back and they sent me a far better oem spec one at no extra cost and the quality was leaps ahead of...

    Timing belt setting correct tension

You can get a dial gauge from Halfords and they're cheap. You need one for doing the cylinder head bolts anyway

Bent cross member on an ‘87 110

You can unbolt and replace them but I'm sure it involves jacking apart the chassis rails slightly which doesn't sound fun

Help - starter rapid clicking intermittent won’t start

Do yourself a favour and bin your Haynes manual. They're OK for beginners but the actual land rover workshop manuals are far better and easily available online

    Left turn clunk! While parked

Did you correctly shim and tighten the pins? When rebuilding the hub with new bearings you need to check the preload and adjust accordingly. I'm wondering if you've overtightened the left hand side or put too few or too many shims in

    Retrofitting a 2000's cassette/radio to a 200 tdi defender: questions and advice

I've no idea what half those wires are for. All you need is a permanent live, switched live, earth and then your speaker cables. That's it

    Wanted 110 full roof rack

Just do what I did and cut one to fit. I had a brownchurch traditional style roofrack so I cut it to suit my rooftent. You can usually pick those ones up pretty much anywhere and they're cheap

    300tdi radiator change help

That frame will probably be for a 200tdi if it's to fit a disco 1. Get yourself to a scrappy and find one off a disco with a 300 and it should fit. As for changing the radiator it's a piece of ****. Disconnect everything from the old one. Slide it out (might as well take out the intercooler and...
