    At last removed the Oval badge, othing bhind no securing bolt just the handle. To gain access to the mechanism is not as Haynes illustrates, must have to remove door card. Still cannot find why the lock barel has moved out of line.

    Ref the tape method to open door would be OK if the lock actuator was not working, everything was working but the lock mechanism had "jammed", was hoping to see what the problem was - noy joy hence all parts off and the opened the door as if by magic! What speakers are recommended?

    Thanks for the sense as for the nonsense I'll say no more. Visited Foundry Four today and they recommended a new latch at the princely sum of £30. Next step remove the door card - dog box dismantled and dog set free.

I did get the original back into working order, must say needed a huge amount of patience to align the cogs and trackes into the correct order. It is now sitting in a box as a reserve.     Ignition switch renewed a year ago, had similar problem with key never really cured the ptoblem. Never had the engine cutout before. With the key problem there is no indication of engine turning ove,r whereas, when the engine cutout the key was sttill operating the starter.??????????

    Oh Dear. Basic to state petrol or diesel, as with the majority a diesel of 1996 vintage and manual gears. As it started again have had nothing to check, just puzzled that the engine fired up and has run perfectly since! Should mention boot etc and inner wings etc rebuilt over the last 3 years.
