With the EGR potential failure modes including valve heads breaking up & disappearing into the turbo or cylinders (if the EGR is not blanked off), I'd be very wary of the quality of any non genuine / OE parts.

An EGR fault on a TDv8 doesn't have to effect the engine performance to trigger the EML.

Beware that even physically interchangeable servos can have significantly different internal specification & could make the brake pedal feel very different (better OR worse). I think the only way you'll find out if another model's servo is useable is if you can get hold of the relevant online...

It could be the plastic bush that locates the ball at the end of the gearstick in the selector rail. It's a relatively common failure on high mileage cars. When it gets worse you can might not be able to select any gears, The possible alternative is the gear selector plate being worn / loose...

I'm not familiar with the setup in a Disco4, but in a Mk3 RR that's often caused by bad aerial coonection to the satnav unit in the boot or duff aerial.

Understand about Facebook - lol. If you can contact them via other means, great, they may be able to help with another opinion. I'm sure many of them have TD5 D2s - they're often used as tow cars for their competition land rovers

I don't believe they're available as a separate part. If they're missing, you may have to get a second pair of covers (perhaps broken ones just to get the seal cheap ?) I've refitted the seals to mine in the past - but used evostick contact adhesive. They're still fine after a few years

You'll be very lucky to find any 7 inch wide modulars for a D2. I've never seen any advertised.
