Just been to fetch all the parts for my oil change and the sump plug has two washers with it , a nylon one and a metal one with a little rubber insert . I did query this but was told it was the right one ,I thought it had a copper one ?

I have no chance then:D on yours do you get a knocking and what feels like engine/wheel vibration ? that's the part that worries me

While looking for the source of my antifreeze/oil leak I came across this , I do not think it is from the lower tie bar any ideas? about a quarter of the way through you can here a knock

Ok managed to get the engine cover off this morning and after all that I think the leak is antifreeze :eek: seeing the puddle on the floor it looked nothing like the pink stuff in the expansion tank .It looks to be weeping from the bottom of the thermostat casing and running down the black pipe...

This is true which is what I will be doing as soon as we get some dry weather, but if that is the case then fingers crossed either the drain or filler plug will just need a nip up and if that's the case it is going back to who did the oil change

The last few days I have noticed an oil leak from the back of the engine just past the engine cover drivers side on my 2006 td4 .It is not engine oil it is clear and not as thick as engine oil ,the only things I have had changed is the ird and gearbox oils could it be a leaky filler or drain...

Just had the chance to have a look at mine and my car has the one in the top picture so i wonder if that type were ever fitted to the td4 or if it had been replaced in the past with the wrong one ?If its the latter could fitting the one for the 1.8 cause any damage if fitted to a td4?

What did you paint it with ? looks like i will be doing my sons next year :oops:

Thanks Nodge i was under the impression there would be enough slack with the hand brake in the "off " possition you learn something new everyday

A few months ago I checked the back brakes on my td4 because the handbrake came up to 7 notches (the handbrake holds ok at 6) having checked the back shoes they were fine so I copper greased them and refitted the drums . However when it came to adjusting the handbrake I found the adjuster was up...

When I went to fetch my daughter from the airport Monday morning on the way back the car sounded like the front tyre had a stone in in .At 70mph it felt like it was thudding(vibrations?) the thudding is not there at any other speed ,I know it is not the tyres as these were checked not long...
