Thanks again mate having had a look at the pics that were posted on the thread I was reading, the wires look brown to me so I think its safe to say the solid brown one is the live and the white tracer wire connects to the CCU

I did some searching on lz looking for the wiring for the rear view mirror and I came across "The Purple wire with the White tracer goes to the CCU" My wires are brown but it still has a brown and white wire ,daft question but am I right in thinking this still goes to the CCU and the solid...

Don't know if this helps but is the tensioner for the long belt not spring loaded ? as far as I know that should take up the tension

Nice job Rob I brought some thin three core wire for mine being as I didn't get the three pin connector either , I think later on I will replace the map reading bulbs with leds like I have with the main light
