Thank you for your input. Everyone who has commented has helped so a big thank you to all. I've learnt a lot from this thread which lead me to do loads of research on batteries and starters which has kept me occupied. Let's hope Thursday goes ok.

Just as a reference to the noise I get when starting it's exactly the same as in this video (at 2.40 into video) the winding sound. 1st port of call in the morning is battery check.
