Mine did the exact same thing ,first thing some mornings ,I just pushed the selector back n forth rapidly,,not done it for a while but prob will now :rolleyes:.......Would show 1 ,when i put it in d ,,flagged up gearbox fault ,stop engine ,restart all good ,first time it showed its face was...
When the injector pipes were put on the pump ,are they in the right order:eek:,white smoke is unburnt diesel in the manifold ,sounds as timing is off a tooth on the chains....Its easy to miss the correct timing hole in the flywheel ,all goes to pot after that :(
+ 1 on that,,,when you got the jump start did you connect to the battery or the engine with the earth lead ,if it was the engine you bypassed the battery earth lead ..if u get what i mean ;)
If you only had one tire fitted ,it can upset the front and rear rotations ,and side to side ,,,but a big enough difference,can (hate to bang on ) upset the viscous coupling and it starts with a drumming ,as front and rear are rotating at different speed s:(..;)
well in Scotland, If its not dripping a puddle on the floor during the mot or on the examiners head ,its a pass i use a rag to catch any drips :rolleyes:, discretely tucked in yous understand:oops: ..
Is that were they make battery's:rolleyes:.....back to the conundrum ,,,,like what i did there:D ,,,,Drumming could be lose wheel:eek: lost wheel weight ,or a tire breaking up ,ie tread separating:eek: ....
Caution when doing up the screw ,once the pipe bracket is home ,more screwing will break the matrix ,when i did mine i applied a little high temp instant gasket to the rubber seals ,time will tell....;)
