    Defender door top removal

Well done, sense of accomplishment conquering that!

    Defender door top removal

Mine are very much the same. Access to remove the glass is via a riveted panel on the inside of the door top. Unfortunately it’s common practice to use sealant when redoing these so in my case I’d destroy this panel trying to remove it. However I have managed to get all the old felt out and...

    90/110 rear door mods

Cat flap to the upper half looks a good idea. Also you can side hinge a tailgate but it still uses the toggles to hold it closed (some soft top military wolfs have had this done). Suppose it depends how neat and original a solution you fancy

    Defender door top removal

Mine fortunately came out but we’re fairly corroded. If they are spinning you may need to cut the nuts off. Unfortunately I couldn’t remove the glass from mine because the strip has been tigersealed in

Is my air filter actually doing anything??

It’s definitely not the original air filter housing, my standard ‘87 110 with na engine has the air filter fitted into the lid of the housing. Air to the engine comes out the top. Maybe you have a mix up as suggested above

    Slow diesel road test

Lol, I struggled to find somewhere to support the phone so I just shouted the speeds. I’ll sort something better out and go again, hang on longer in 4th.

    Swivels question

People do the cut trick to defenders too, I think it’s a preference thing.

    Swivels question

I managed it on mine, did new bearings etc whilst I was at it. My swivel ball was in fantastic condition, it was just the seal worn out. Just find a good set of instructions, few tools and take your time.

    Slow diesel road test

    Finally gave this a go in my NA. 20mph in 5sec, 30 in 10sec, 40 in 16sec, 50 in 28sec. I should have pushed it to 55 in 4th but changed into 5th too early. Standard 2.5na diesel 110, 1.4 t-box, 7.5x16 tires.

Did they make a 2.5 petrol engine for the defender,

Good engine apparently, I know someone who’s got one. He’s just had a bit of trouble finding a replacement head as his one cracked.

Did they make a 2.5 petrol engine for the defender,

Yes but they aren’t that common, quickly phased out in favour of the Turbo Diesel 19J

    Wolf wheels

Not sure but you should be able to get genuine used ones pretty cheaply

    Wolf Wheel Warning Plate

Mine has also been absolutely fine with wolf wheels and short studs

What colour green is my 90 FFR help

Just watch that when you paint a panel it’ll be quite bright and glossy for a few weeks/months but it dulls down. Repainted my whole landy and it was looking very green but it’s settled down now.

    110 Fuel Tank.

It’s a bit of a pig, I had to support the tank in place so I had both hands free to do the nuts. Also I forget which way round but one end needs to be bolted first so they line up. Getting to pick up pipe in was an absolute pain, including somehow fitting it at the wrong angle and having to call...

    Oil consumption

If your up and down steep hills a lot and possibly off road a bit it’s probably normal. When you start topping up oil more frequently than petrol I’d get worried

FIP and the centre nut you shouldn't undo

My na has a key. You should be able to get a timing pin for the FIP to get it back in the right place.
