I know that theres one on the disco 3 forum at the mo for £9k!, its nice but not worth that much by a long shot The nice D2's on autotrader with less than 100k are about £5k currently but thats at dealers with no mention on chassis condition so you could get there to find its a rot box...

Driven both and agree carlton has the edge and so did the senator, my Dad used to deal with police at the pit if they had any thefts and one lot turned up in a new senator 24v one morning, Dad asked what they were like and copper replied "the lads are fighting over who gets in them at shift...

most reliable auto ive ever experienced was the old ford 3/4 speed ones in the Scorpios/granada's Anyhoo, Long story short i said to Mrs other day "im buying a land rover " (as I miss my D2 TD5 and its agricultural feel they have), her reply was something along the lines of " no darling your...

not exactly through the center Dave near the mounting else you'll hit the threads it screws on to, personal favorite way of mine is a long screw driver though the filter itself then us the driver as a lever messy but effective

3 fold really, firstly I like to be more in control than an auto gives you, secondly I’ve never liked how you really have to plant your foot pulling away to get it to shift and there’s still that time lag with an auto (d3 included from my drive other day all be in less than say something 20...

ive been bitten before with large bills for necessary maintenance on cars that just seem to need everything done at once cuz all they've had is the oil and filter changed every 12 months, having served my time on the spanners its the "I just want the book stamped" type of owners that have...

HA you're more awake than I am obviously! Apparently at motorway speed it doesn't wallow/ weave or what ever straight as a dye, I only took it up to 55ish on a bit of A road

Didn't wallow in bends just when going straight ahead over bums. felt like a boat heading out to sea from the harbor when the weathers choppy is best description I can give, you'd hit a bump and then it would continue to move until you hit the next bump and so on and so on My D2 was on standard...

I'll have a word with the lad that owns it in that case, He's showed me all the receipts from the work and its had all its bushes done front and rear by the dealer he's bought it from, theres also receipts for a full left hand cylinder head rebuild at 77k in Portugal due to a dropped valve...

Loved my D2 TD5 . I've just driven my first D3 (a supposedly well sorted 55 plate one at that with 107k on the clocks) and tbh was not overly impressed, wallow heavy steering and now where near as precise on the road as my d2 pursuit on standard springs in all it just felt heavy (yes I know...

Get your tracking done by all means but from the look of that tyre I'd say its been run flat so the rim is putting direct pressure on the outside of the tyre, usually tracking wear is over a wider area of the tyre edge so the first lot of groves would of been chewed as well

might as well; while its in the air re the drive shaft bearing only car ive ever seen those fail on are mk1 focus's so you might get away with it but then it is problery enduring more torque then any one of those will ever put out

cv grease is the give away , my guess is the drive shaft cv joints has failed internally and the shaft is spinning inside the knuckle and has split the cv boot spreading the grease, just means a new shaft reason it wont drive is the power takes the way of least resistance through the damaged...
