Is it possible to remove all the immobilizer stuff and have the engine run on the standard ECU? I'm going to weigh in my range rover but would like to keep the engine for a future project.

I just changed rear bearing O ring and bled the brakes and wow what a difference. I had a play with the Hawkeye to bleed the abs and managed to shift a load of air. Thanks for all the replies.

I just had a look and there's loads of pad left. The front discs are a bit thin at 21-22mm and one rear wheel bearing O ring has gone. Ill give it a fluid change this weekend.

The trailer and load are rarely over 2.5 ton but there are a few hills over here. The brakes should be ok on the trailer as its only about 3 years old but, good point and worth a look. For reference i can get borg and bec, front and rear for £240.

Has anyone tried ebc slotted discs and yellow stuff pads? Any feed back? Im getting brake fade when towing and I'm fairly sure my brakes are shot. I would like to buy british but they are £4-500 for both front and rear. If they last better i will get them as im keeping the car long term.

I have re done the fuel pressure reg so hoping it won't be that. It's not a bad leak but I'm seeing if it's possible to have a dry land rover. This engine oil leak and one more on the transfer box and it should be there.

I assume if the oil feed was leaking it would be either copper washer on banjos or perished rubber hose to sump? Is that the only other oily bit on that side?

No I have done that, the rocker gasket and the injector loom. Does the alternator have a oil feed? I've not spotted the vacuum pump yet.

Front struts £500 Rear bags £300 Compressor £800 Height sensors £400 So that's £2000 for non genuine bags and struts. Then you will need new hoses as they rub through and leak. The tank can rot out and then there is at least two valves I know of. The crappy little air fittings are , I think...

To fix the air properly would cost £3000+, anything less and your winging it. If you rely on you car for work I think coils are the way forward. They can be had for £400 now I think. If you're car is a project / toy and you love pointless gadgets the EAS will give you plenty to do.

I've go a oil leak on the drivers side of the engine towards the front. As there is a lot of stuff there I can't see where it's coming from. Can someone tell me what gaskets are under and forward of the inlet manifold and seal in the oil?

Fit coil springs then you will have no more problems.

I'm sure it must have been said but , have you tried staring it in neutral? Assuming its an auto?

If I could find some heavy duty springs for the range rover that would be my perfect car. Has anyone had custom springs made? The ones that come with the coil conversion are a tad to soft on the back.

Does the crank snap on the auto? I would only consider an auto because of the towing duties.
