That's a good idea, but you could either get lucky with an engine that's been looked after or you could end up with a pile of scrap.

I found someone selling the engine for £5200 and the Ecu etc for £800, and you're right there's loads of other things that need to be done, yes and still a bit cheaper

Yeah lol, he wants too see weather buying one already installed would be cheaper than doing the conversion him self. Obviously if he did it him self he'd need a defender with no engine, or buy a high mileage one for cheaper then just ditch the engine. U can buy the ls3's for £6,000 so it's not...
