Disco 2 Possible worn body mounts?

i've been told they can be done individually or in pairs by jacking the body up next to them with a block of wood just enough to slip them out. Sounds easy enough but only one way to find out ;)

Disco 2 Possible worn body mounts?

Looks useful, will take note when I do get round to replacing the interior, will also be fitting closed cell foam where ever possible for general noise reduction. Will still change those body mounts, after all with its age I suppose it isn't a bad idea.

Disco 2 How many miles from a tank of Derv? Auto/Manual

EGR Delete, CAT Delete and a stage 1 remap (generally around 250 quid) makes an absolute world of difference to power and a fair good impact on mpg.

Disco 2 Possible worn body mounts?

They did seem quite cheap, any idea if they are one of the only go genuine items or can i get away with OEM? And by inner chassis mounting bushes I take it you mean the ones in the boot space if I recall, 12 of them total.

Disco 2 How many miles from a tank of Derv? Auto/Manual

My remapped manual would get about 450 around town, and about 600 highway miles out of a full tank, although that was taking it slow and steady with the lorries mostly.

Disco 2 Possible worn body mounts?

Since I bought this disco it has honestly been the worst sounding interior I've ever driven, every rough road or pothole makes every piece of interior trim creak and bang, its ridiculously noisy. As for exterior noise (wind etc) she's pretty good, no worse than my other discos. mechanically she...

    Disco 2 Mystery connector

As long as I could jump in and flick the blower heater on max I wouldn't mind the 2 minute wait for the cab to heat instead of the 20 mins it usually takes o_O

    Disco 2 Mystery connector

hm, sure seems more logical to have it turn on some time before the engine. Did all discos come with the wiring in place for the pump and FBR or just the ones sold in colder climates? I would be quite happy with a remote or timer on the dash though. Although im in the UK I live in a very exposed...

    Disco 2 Mystery connector

Ah didn't see your picture there, I was thinking of one of the bigger ports. Might have to think about that one, sure would be nice to get into a pre heated truck, and probably a little more forgiving on engine wear during cold starts. Cheers

    Disco 2 Mystery connector

Interesting, just found it all on lrcat. I can't say I recall seeing a spare port on my pump but I wasn't exactly looking.

    Disco 2 Mystery connector

Well i never knew td5s came with a pre heater from factory, I'll take a guess and say the parts (additional coolant pipes etc) are probably a little hard to come by now? Was it a Webasto heater?

    Disco 2 Ace bushes

I have done them before, I did use a hydraulic press if I recall, although a vice may possibly do them, I didn't change them all. Can usually find some shop or somewhere with a press who will do it for next to nothing. As for the quality of bushes, the main bush that takes a lot of force (number...

    Disco 2 Ace bushes

So I'm getting round to refurbing the ace on my other disco, and want to replace all bushes as a precautionary measure. Just curious if anyone has used OEM bushes for the ram etc or if its better to steer clear and go genuine? OEM is around £7 and genuine being £30 as one example of the ram end...

Disco 2 Brake pedal problem when towing weight

Well changed the cylinder and bled it again. Works flawlessly with no trailer. I only had a 2 ton digger to hand so had about 2.8t loaded. And felt fine to me. Abs worked fine and the pedal didn't make it all the way down. Can't go exactly on that though as the 3.5 probably makes a difference...

Disco 2 Brake pedal problem when towing weight

I will take a look at that pdf later, have just finished up learning the complete ins and outs of the ace system. So, back at it now, looking at the master cylinder and the abs pump deciding what to replace first.. Now that I've jumped in the pedal is pretty sloppy even with no weight on and...

Disco 2 Brake pedal problem when towing weight

As far as im aware the slabs ECU uses the ABS module to monitor the pressure sent to each brake/axle and adjusts it accordingly, I assume it measures how much pressure is needed to brake each axle and compares it to the speed reduction to determine weight load, although just a guess for a very...

Disco 2 Brake pedal problem when towing weight

Going to have a look at it again tomorrow. I had debated the Flexi piped expanding but wasn't sure it would cause that much of a difference. Will check fluid level tomorrow but didn't notice any loss last time. I've never had an abs pump cause this so maybe I will start with the ****part...

For Sale Td5 10p engine and most other bits

From a running truck with 175k miles. Already has an EGR delete. Comes with the injectors, pas pump, AC pump, an ACE delete idler pulley and everything else belt driven. I have removed the starter motor as I needed it for another d2. If I can find another I'll put it on. Pulled pretty well. Will...

Disco 2 Brake pedal problem when towing weight

I can give that a try, but the fault would have to be with the wiring on the disco as it's had more than one trailer on. Any thoughts on if it's worth swapping the abs pump as it's the only thing that hasn't been replaced? And failing that I'm still wary of that britpart cylinder. Haven't had...
