    Webasto pre heater

That's why I remove my viscous fan in the winter.. certainly helps, and my stock electric one works so that should kick in if it ever did get too hot (I think!) Not that it ever has.

    Webasto pre heater

After much searching, I debated using an Arduino to produce the W bus signal, but quite honestly that's getting a bit beyond my electrical knowledge, swapping the circuit board to a tt c is an option.. but not cheap and not sure it would run right. Finally I've found a seller on eBay who...

Disco 2 Possible worn body mounts?

As for this.. I'm taking her off the road for probably a year or so due to a change in work, so although probably wont get done anytime soon, will probably lift the body off at some point and do them when its off.

    Webasto pre heater

If my d2 can hold temp with heaters on in minus conditions I would have thought a d3 would have no problem. Not to say I wont be fitting one though because she takes her time getting there.

    Webasto pre heater

Thanks, so it seems the only non can-bus is the thermotop C. Little bit harder to find from any car manufacturer. On another note would I be right in saying the Discovery 2 factory webasto is a type C as correct me if im wrong the d2 does not use canbus.

    Webasto pre heater

Reading into it so far.. a Webasto Oval timer is deffo needed to give the right CAN signal to the LR webastos..

    Webasto pre heater

I know you can buy then more specifically designed for boats etc, which I was going to get a refurb one which go for about £300. But then I checked used car ones out of curiousity to see they go for as cheap as £40 and a bit more for later models. I figure with the correct wiring it's still a...

    Webasto pre heater

I've also read they build up carbon deposits a lot faster at lower output, so maybe better to just have the thermostat toggle it either full on or off untill required again.

    Webasto pre heater

Thats good to hear.. so its a fairly standard webasto, some wire joining and a fairly basic thermostat and should be up to the job. Works out as one cheap boiler when they go for $40-$100 :)

    Webasto pre heater

Anyone know what KW output the d3/4 webasto pre heaters are? Thinking of fitting one to central heating in static caravan, need a min of 5kw really. Tia

    Disco 2 Fuel pump noise

Mines had a bit of a high pitch whine for the first 5 secs or so for around the 2 years I've owned it, only when fuel is on the lower side if I recall. Done about 30k miles in those 2 years and it's never hesitated to start or pull. Not sure if it's the original pump but I just put it down to...

    Re-instating air suspension in an 04 D2

generally people don't snip wires, as its all on plugs that can be removed. only thing that usually gets snipped is the pipes, and depending how far back they have been snipped you may need a new pipe harness. You can buy these new from LR for around 130 last time I bought one. And yes I...

    Front bumper alignment

If I recall where the bumper bolts to the chassis it has slots rather than holes so if you loosen them you can have someone hold it in position whilst the bolts are tightened.

Disco 2 What is this pipe

Worst thing it'll do.. is you'll have a little hole in your airbox :p hmm.. I always figured it sucked air, kinda seems pointless bringing the pipe to the other side of the engine bay just to dump air in the filter.

Disco 2 What is this pipe

its just below your hand in that pic, not on the lid that comes out, but on the actual box below. If you really cant see it remove the lid and filter might help, worst case its snapped off, but you will feel the hole.

Disco 2 What is this pipe

It connects to the side of the air filter box, you will see a nipple for it to slide on to. Not 100 percent but think its something for the vacuum pump near the alternator.

Disco 2 Possible worn body mounts?

shh, nothing wrong with it ;) It's only one of the body mounts that has done that, and I've never welded ally before, and heard its hard, so might just leave be as its still solid enough.

Disco 2 Possible worn body mounts?

I read a post saying that, no noticeable difference and not worth it, but then I also read another post saying it made a massive difference to inside cab noise. Will probably tackle it in a week or two, will update then.

Disco 2 Possible worn body mounts?

Took some photos today of 4 of the mounts to try and see their exterior condition, maybe looks to me like the first pic body mount is slightly more compressed that the other side and has some rot on the ally body around it. One of the outrigger mounts has bad corrosion on the ally frame that...
