EGR removal is never an MOT failure - I guess it could be an advisory but never a failure. DPF removal is an MOT failure but I don' think that affects any of us (maybe a D4/5)

Ya don't want to be churning it for more than 30 seconds unless you like replacing starter motors for a pastime :) You need to leave the ignition switched on for 3 minutes to purge the system

Disco 2 TD5 Oil pump bolt

I know but it's also the cross member bolts etc - I just wondered if anyone had had a failure at high mileage.

I put my PSI powerbox on eBay and it's currently at £26 - it's set up for a Discovery 2 so probably wouldn't work on a D3 otherwise it would have been a cheap option.

Disco 2 TD5 Oil pump bolt

My Disco 2 has 161,000 on the clock - d'ya think I can assume that someone has already taken care of the oil pump sprocket bolt or is there evidence of it affecting high mileage trucks also? Don't want to drop the sump and risk oil leaks etc unless there is a real need.

Disco 2 I give up - what is it?

Errr, what?? You mean it's a damper? Is it serviceable in any way? Anything I need to grease or clean?

    Disco 2 Suspension / Handling

Buy a Series Land Rover and drive it on the island for 3 months - then go back to the Disco :) By the way, l lived in Port Erin in the mid 90's - loved the IoM except for the weather!

Bought a great new tool today - 30 mins later...

It's not a huge job if you have an empty tank - the problem is there is no drain and diesel stinks :)

The problem was that they looked ok until I hit it with the gun - then you can see what was hidden. As blue beasty said, better to know what's actually metal and what's rust+underseal.

Yes, I'm going to wimp out - I don't want to drop the fuel tank and welding that close to the tank even with a shield in place needs a careful hand :)

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Had a nice visit from Mike at Dynachip and now have a nice new map on my TD5 - at the same time we pulled off a PSI Powerbox that the previous owner had installed (that's now on eBay), reconnected the wastegate modulator and adjusted the wastegate back to 13 threads (instead of 8!!) Now sitting...

Disco 2 Allways having to enter AEK to get going.

The plips have valeo keys inserted in them - those keys only open the drivers door (manually) and the plips open the whole car (well they would if the central locking was working on all the doors but that's a different story LOL) - the plain keys are valeo but have a solid head (non-removeable)...

Disco 2 Allways having to enter AEK to get going.

Another question if I may - I have 2 plips and 2 'plain' keys that I suspect have the passive chip in them as they are the ones that operate the ignition. Is this the way that the Discovery 2 was sold? Or do the plip keys also have a passive chip so that they can operate the ignition. In my...

Disco 2 Allways having to enter AEK to get going.

I have found that Perrys are selling brand new ones on eBay for £32 but for a Rover 75 (433Mhz??) - did I read correctly that these can be programmed using the Nanocom to work on a Disco 2? They look a bit different from the Landrover ones but still 2 button.
