Not sure if this is a help, but somewhere I read of an older person who didn't have the strength anymore to depress his clutch so he fitted an additional booster? I think. When I put in a HD clutch in my defender it was a little bit stiffer, but that's all. Don't know if this helps.

Well, from what I've read a soft seize, is quite different from a seize when the motor is running. Fingers crossed.

You can purchase a pump to do it,: Mityvac MV4560 Radiator/Cooling System and Pressure Test Kit or borrow one from a mechanic friend.

Try pressurizing the rad if it leaks you will know.
