No, not at all. I drive a 2005 td5 Defender 75000 last 6 years with no real problems. fuel economy between 28.5 and 31.5 mpg. E.G.R valve removed, ITG air filter, Samco hoses and re-mapped. Enjoy your daily drive in your Defender.;)

Cover all the bolts you are going to remove with lots of WD40 and do the job next weekend!!:o

Speak to Shifty he's your man for all things TD5. My 2005 defender has now done 92000 miles with no problems. The clutch was changed just before i got it other than brake pads and a swivel seal the only thing done to it is regular servicing.

Someone with way more knowledge than me will be along shortly. If you have any back and forth movement from the wheel when it is jacked up the swivel ball is not adjusted correctly. I have never done the job before but this is how i understand it from what reading regarding swivels i have done..

I changed the rear brake pads. Whole job from start to finish less than an hour nothing seized. :D
