High. Pressure sensor and Fuel Rail pressure plausibility P1190

You're right, I foolishly assumed the live readings of the pressure regulator current were showing the charge of the current, measured in Volts. But it seems they are actually showing how many Amps are flowing? Either way, those readings were strange. 4+ Amps or Volts or whatever that reading...

High. Pressure sensor and Fuel Rail pressure plausibility P1190

Ok I guess, I'm left in the mud.... Just for the reference I just wanna restate something: The only thing I can do to avoid getting limps and MIL... is to disconnect the high pressure sensor. The car works fine without it. I mean as good as it gets without the sensor. I don't just want to...

P1190 Fault, longer starting and surging

Good stuff!! Well done! I suspect the P1090 is gone for good :). On TD4 you can add any random TD4 injector without programming right?

A better one. Should be in HD, after full processing.

High. Pressure sensor and Fuel Rail pressure plausibility P1190

Please help! I've done a couple of tests yesterday. Driving around the city. Engine cut off 4 times. Unfortunately only captured on camera once. But captured several limps. I apologise for the video quality. It was the best I could do at the moment. I also managed to trigger MIL stationary...

P1190 Fault, longer starting and surging

I thought so too. This start was actually one of the best and engine was hot, which always helps. But normally takes longer. However this is just a stationary test. Fault comes after a few miles after start, usually after I downshift from third to second and release the clutch. I will try to...

P1190 Fault, longer starting and surging

Here is my live data from start to stop. The photo above is the injector leak from all this time.

From start to stop. I have no clue what the hum sound at min 1:40 is. I start reving later in the video.

High. Pressure sensor and Fuel Rail pressure plausibility P1190

So basically, if I disconnect regulator's electrical connection( at tick-over for example) the engine will die, so I can't really test anything. It takes around 6-8 cranks to start. But it starts. A tiny bit of blue smoke at start also. What if the regulator's leak is not fully developed yet...

P1190 Fault, longer starting and surging

Hmm, on the other hand, my injectors are fine, they leak exactly the same, and very little. Here's what I got in 3.5+ minutes with few sharp acceleration too. I measured them each after. less than 5% fluctuation. So now I'm lost....At least you know your fault :))

    Oxygen, O2, Air/Fuel Exhaust sensor

Hi guys! So I've been roaming around all over the internet looking for an O2 sensor for Freelander 2003+ TD4, 2.0l manual. In fact Any Freelander I TD4. There seems to be none installed. Someone said it's The MAF sensor...but no, that's for the intake, has nothing to do with what comes out in...

    Freelander 1 Fuel pump problem td4 2002

Hey, sorry to revive a dead thread. Any chance you can tell us what the fault was?

High. Pressure sensor and Fuel Rail pressure plausibility P1190

Yup, no difference. It's coming from the pump. I think it's ok. I see no leak. I took the manifold out today and cleaned the MAP sensor....boy.... what a mucky business. I prepared everything for a new injector leak test....but if they don't leak I will be officially clueless. I would need to...

P1190 Fault, longer starting and surging

Interesting! Is there a way to avoid breaking the seal you think? Would you do it differently next time?

P1190 Fault, longer starting and surging

That’s great! Well you most likely found your issue. Your compression inbalance probably means explosion on top of pistons occurs before the spark, or simply just randomly, and that pushes the pistons against their will ... and hence the rattle. My idle is rough in general, unless I disconnect...

P1190 Fault, longer starting and surging

So basically, from research, we are losing pressure somewhere. That's why we need to crank engine longer, to build pressure. It can be from the tank/LP pump, HP regulator or injectors. With injectors it's easy to test. If you have a multimeter you can test their resistance too. Should be...

P1190 Fault, longer starting and surging

In any case the way I see it, 1-2 of your injectors are leaking, so thats 90% the cause. I saw another post here with same 1190 code and the problem was injector leak (4). Also, when you cleaned inlet manifold, did you clean MAP sensor too? Did you take it out? MAP should be checked under...

Hey, it's me who has the same issue. So interesting. I will also go back to injectors and repeat leak off test. Good luck!

By HP regulator you mean HP fuel sensor? If yes, noise doesn't stop if I disconnect it. I've read many people hear that hiss and that is normal, but cannot be 100% sure.
