Yes...it was the high pressure fuel pump :( Bought one remanufactured £180 Bosh approved. And 3 hour labour. They checked the tank filter at the return pipe and it was full of brass... That's an indication of pump failure.

I think replacing LP pump twice means that’s not the problem. To me it seems like a fuel pressure regulator issue. Unfortunately it is hard to reach and need to take starter motor out first. Usually the rubber o rings drop pressure. But to check easier things first, try running car without LP...

Thanks! Mine has already been changed and car worked fine for 2 years with it. So I’m sure wiring is correct. Also I would get a sensor fault if cable was an issue, but I don’t. Do you remember your fault codes?

Assuming the filter is ok (replaced 3 weeks ago). What else can go wrong on the LP side except the pump? Maybe sender unit? Do you know how I can check the sender unit on these models? I know it's located under the back seats.

Oh and another unexplained problem... if LP rail is the cause, and pressure does indeed drop under 250kpa, then why engine doesn't limp or dies with high pressure sensor disconnected...

Well, that makes sense to me too... but the P1190 is so confusing.

Here it is 30 seconds. It makes sense! So now, looking back... I see the LP pump pressure drops to 100 just before engine stops. I don't know if that's a result of engine being cut off, or if LP causes all this chaos... As I said, LP seems a bit rusty and sounds funny. Dashboard lights...
